Water broke at 30 wks. (kinda long)

Saturday morning at 2:30a.m. I was laying in bed and i started leaking. I thought I might have pee'd on myself. I woke up DH and went to L&D just to make sure. They checked me out and confirmed my water broke. I was having some contractions that I couldn't really feel. They gave me Beta-Methasone, Procardia, and antibiotics and IV's to try to stop labor. My contractions got to be 2-3 minutes apart, but my cervix was still closed. Later that afternoon the contractions stopped and now it's a waiting game. I got another dose of Beta-Methasone the next morning to help with lung develpment in case I delivered. We're hoping to keep the girls in as long as we can. I'm on strict bed rest with constant meds coming in. I got an u/s this morning, we are waiting for results...but we think it was A's water that broke. It's kinda nice though, cuz my mom is an L&D nurse here so today she's working and my nurse

Oh and not to mention, what a birthday shocker on Saturday morning. 30 years old and 30 weeks pregnant!

Good Luck and Happy Birthday! I had something simmilar happen and I was super upset about it. Even though DC did some NICU time, the meds did their job and their lungs were developed by the time they were born so they never needed oxygen or anything! Sending happy thoughs your way!

Here's some MORE bedrest dust! I think it's better in the hospital...less stress than when you're home, but that's just my opinion!

FWIW: My girls are 30 weekers...doing FABULOUS.

Oh man, that is hard. I was in the hospital from 24 wks to 32 wks. During that time I heard many good stories of girls who broke water at 20 wks and held off to 32. Hang in there and do EVERYTHING they tell you too. I know bedpans, catheters, meds, etc are hard but they help you hold out. I won't lie, I really struggled sometimes emotionally... it is hard. Hang in there, and glad your mom can be part of your treatment.
