I have PIH also and we're being told our baby will be coming early also. But, thank God, we also know that baby is perfectly healthy and that there isn't a huge fear if s/he does decide to come early. Not what we're hoping for, but we know it'll work out for the best I'm really glad things turned out for you!
I am glad that everything has turn out for the better. I dont want to pry but what is PIH?
Pregnancy Induced Hypertention
It was actually the pre-eclampsia that made her come early but the PIH inspired it,
I'm not to the point of pre-e, but am on bedrest. Did your little one come early on her own, or were you induced?
They wouldnt induce me since I had a failed induction with my last DD and my Dr. didnt want me pushing with how high my BP was so they did a c-section.
I hadnt even packed my bags yet, yikes. That is something I recommend doing now JUST in case. Hopefully you're able to keep that LO of yours in a little longer that I did.
Do you mind my asking how high your BP was? I have the highest of hopes for a natural, vaginal delivery and one of the things I'm scared of is that I'll have to get a c/s. The highest my BP has ever been was 178/don't remember. I was actually sent to L&D (again) for it this week, but by the time we left it went down to 122/don't remember again.
The health of our LO is most important, but I hope i can get that vaginal delivery. They haven't brought up anything about a c/s, only that because of PIH our babe will, most likely, be coming early on his/her own....
I'm sorry, I just want to pick your brain about all this because I'm trying to get firsthand experience!
I am butting in... soontobe, I know it is bittersweet to read that you are 39 weeks pregnant... hard to get over having an early baby but she is so precious and thank God, doing so great. I am happy for you but I think mommy's like us will always feel torn about not making it further.
snsgurl728, I will give you my input, if you do not mind. I had my DS at 27 weeks due to pre-e and am in the hospital trying to buy as much time before I have to have my daughter.
I am not sure if you are on meds, I never was but they did give me meds to get my BP down once I was in the hospital and had to have my son. Plus most likely all high BP/PIH patients would get magnesium... which sucks but I guess is a necessary evil since it prevents seizures. My drs tried really hard to get me a vaginal delivery and I think most dr will work hard to see that is the case. Because of how early my son was and how unprepared my body was at 27 weeks, his heart rate dropped and my body was not reacting well to trying to do something it was not time for so I did have to have a c/s and will have a repeat this time. It is not that bad actually.
So I think maybe since you are pretty far along things could work favorably for a vag delivery. Best of luck to you and sorry to take over the post... hospital bedrest = lots of time on my hands.
