We used Similac Neosure for the first 4 months they were home. At that doctor's appointment they gave us the go ahead to switch to regular formula. We are currently using Target brand of Enfamil Gentlease.
The NICU sent him home on Enfamil Enfacare mixed to a higher calorie, we chose to switch him a couple months later to see what his reflux did to Enfamil Gentlease much better and cheaper we still mix to a higher calorie.
We used Enfacare for the first 2 months home, then switched to regular Enfamil (tried similac but DS was too gassy), then at 4 months switched to Costco brand. DS's reflux and gassiness was at its best on the Costco brand, plus it is WAAAAAAY cheaper than the name brands.
Similac Neosure until just after 4 months old, then we switched to Similac Advance with Early Shield. We find that they are less likely to spit-up with the Similac Advance, but they poo a lot more often now!
After 20 months TTC with PCOS, we were blessed with twins!
They arrived at 36 weeks after PTL and bedrest for 14 weeks.
He came home on Elecare (hypoallgenic stuff), that made him puke. We went through quite the list and finally settled on Good Starts. (we were adding to breast milk for extra calories.)
We were told to use either Enfacare or Neosure. We've been using the Enfacare but it does seem to make LO quite gassy. We've mentioned to Pedi at every appt. but so far no go on changing. We are mixing to the 26 cal. formula and it's getting quite $$ since neither choice comes in a larger container.
My milk production tanked almost as soon as my DD got home from the hospital. We used Enfamil Enfacare until she was 4 months old. Then, we got the go ahead to switch to regular formula.
WE fortified BM with Enfamil Enfacare until they were 12 months old....then I gradually changed them to GoodStart Natural Cultures/BM....for their transition to whole milk (MUCH Cheaper)
we use a tsp. of neosure for every 70 ml of breastmilk. I fortify all of her bottles. She usually have 6 or 7 70 ml bottles per day. I can tell it's hard to digest & gives her lots of gas, but I know it's important for her growth & for her brain development.
