My DH is an arse

We are going to a wedding tonight. It's not going to be a rip roaring good time, but we are going. I sent in the RSVP and we have a babysitter. He just doesn't want to go.

He's coming down with a cold (I am too, but am not complaining). he keeps sending me texts how his nose is stuffed and he has a sore throat. I know where he's going with this and he's going to come home from work saying he's too sick to go. He just sent a text that says he has a headache. I told him to take something in his desk and blow his nose.

I then told him that if he's too sick to go to the wedding tonight, he's going to be too sick to go golfing tomorrow and too sick to see Halloween with his dad tomorrow night.

  • Man he better not be to sick for the wedding but okay for golf.

  • I swear if he doesn't go the wedding I will give him a roofie tomorrow to keep his ass home.

  • Totally agree with your logic, but ugh - isn't that something parents of teenagers have to tell them when they want to stay  home from school?  I'd be frustrated too.

It's someone from church it will be fun, just not drunk fun. I feel like we need to since we said that we would go and the whole dinner thing.

Agree.  I seriously can't imagine talking to my DH like that!  He'd be like Indifferent

But it's definitely annoying if you feel like he's faking!

  • cancel the babysitter, go by yourself, tell everyone he's sick....leaving him home with the kids if he really doesn't feel well is punishment enough...right?
  • Good for you.  I would be irritated with him.
  • He'll understand the importance of going to something you've RSVP'ed "yes" to when he has to pay for 5-6 dinners for people that didn't show up for your DD's wedding reception dinner to the tune of $60 or more a place setting!!!  Wow...run-on sentence much?  Sorry about that.
