Does your cat beg for food? Chloe is horrible about it. She is like a puppy, seriously. She is currently moving at snail speed trying to be sneaky and take a bite of my grilled cheese. I try saying "No!" but she won't listen.

My cat won't even touch my food. The only thing she will eat is the tuna juice. All of her other mannerisms scream dog though!

I am a cat person! Hah! Big Smile My cats only beg for yogurt and ice cream! They don't really have an interest in other foods. I have friends whose cat begs for food all the time. I am not sure why mine don't.

omg, I have a boy cat named chloe. He doesn't beg for people food, but is relentless if his bowl is empty, even if he JUST empytied it!

LOL this makes me giggle because I know exactly what you are talking about! No matter where I sit to eat.. my cats are always just about sitting on my plate begging for my food. They inch closer and closer and when you aren't looking, they snatch your food off your plate! I kick them off the counter (we have bar stools at a counter rather than a table) but they are spring loaded and jump right back up. I am pretty used to it but I feel awful and like I can't control my cats when I have someone eating at our house and they are trying to steal their food.. but lets face it-- I can't control my cats! They run the house!

never. They are interested if I'm eating on the couch but I just say no and they go away. We never feed them table food anyway so I think that's why.

I caught my cat eating out of the dog food bowl yesterday. What a porker! He is a big dog with a raised bowl that is not easy to get into = it was funny to watch!

All of our friends' cats' are non overly friendly anyways. We joke that Chloe is a golden retriever in a cat's body. We call her Puppy a lot of the time when talking to her!

I know it's my fault that she begs, DH always yells at me. Whenever I tell her no, I'm usually laughing....and she is very convincing. She's just so cute though! ?

My sister adopted my cat when I got married because DH is allergic Sad , but he very much thinks he's a dog. When they made Guacamole Doritos I would find him on the shelf in the pantry with his head in the bag snacking on them. (And, yes, we fed him!) He also loves Cheez-Its and Tuna (of course) and occasionally he'll try and sip some soda...my sis says if she has a take out or fast food cup he'll lick the straw if he can get to it.

When someone comes to the door he has to check it out, too.

My male cat, Ace, goes nuts when you have a big meat dish. (burgers, ribs, chicken, meatloaf, etc...) We have to watch him very carefully because he will try to steal it right off our plates. Our female, Enju, could care less unless you offer it to her, then she wants it.

LOL! DH and I are actually embarrassed sometimes when people eat over. The other day she just moseyed over to my sister's plate and started eating! I was horrified! When she was a tiny kitten, it wasn't a big deal, we would just tell company "Don't pick her up when you're eating! She doesn't really want to cuddle, she's lying". But now she weighs 10+ pounds and isn't the most graceful of cats.?

Nope. We have 3 cats, they never beg. I never allowed them "people food" as kittens, and now they couldn't care less about our food.

If I open a bag of something one of the cats (my Chloe!) comes running, smells the bag & walks away, she is just nosey about the noise.

I have 2 cats and their personalities when it comes to food are VERY different. ?My older cat really couldn't care less. ?There are only certain foods she will eat, but she will NEVER beg. ?You have to bring the food to her, and even sometimes then she will snub it.

My kitten is a different story. ?She jumps everywhere and will snatch food right off your plate- and I'm talking ANYTHING! ?I've caught her with spaghetti, pancakes, anything!!!!! ?And God forbid I open a can of tuna or cut up some cheese.... she flips out and cries like she hasn't eaten in days! ?

I have no clue how I am going to stop this though.... I wish there was an easy answer. ?

one of my cats is johnny-on-the-spot whenever I'm in the kitchen making anything. he'll just sit there (or lay there) and meow, as if i'm cooking his dinner. It is ten times more extreme if i open a can, because he knows tuna comes in cans.

Yes, Oscar always is interesting in what we are doing no matter what it is. If i give in and give him a piece though he will never eat it. He just wants the gesture.

One of my cats beg for ice cream, but only if there is no fruit in it. That's all though. I don't feed my cats people food, except the one ice cream. So it's my fault. She is such a little crap though, because you try to pet her after you give her ice cream and she just walks away like she is done with you.

my cat is a chowhound... maybe that should be chowcat... anyway, depending on what i am eating he will meow in my face. the funny thing is we never feed him people food (except for the ocassional dab of whipped cream).

oh and an hour before it is time for him to eat he will meow CONSTANTLY until he is fed it is so so so ANNOYING!!

My cat will not beg for food. But - if you leave your plate unattended that does not mean it will not be touched. Same with my dog - she does not beg for food - but don't expect to be able to leave your plate unattended. LOL

My cat begs for milk, cheese, tuna, bagels and cream cheese or anything my husband is eating. We never ever feed her table food, but she is contantly screaming at us when we even open the fridge and by screaming I mean the most obnoxious death like Meooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I have ever heard. She is awful about her bowl being empty too- even if she eats the last bite while I'm standing there, she will scream and wail mooooooooooooooooooooooooooo until you refill it. It's a little ridiculous. But I'm not a cat person-I'm allergic to her, it's my husbands cat, so I tend to find her extremely annoying and he just laughs at her.

She even scares our labrador when she screams like that- our 68 lb lab runs and hides with her tail between her legs- poor thing.

Oh yeah. Our cat has issues with food. She loves it! Seriously...if we're eating popcorn or chips she's practically in the bowl! She also eats our dog's kibble. We have her on diet kitty chow, but with all of her snacking (we swear she knows where every neighbor feeds their kitty...if it's outdoors) she's still chubby.

My cat is completely obnoxious when I am cooking any kind of meat.. especially chicken or bacon. She also loves marinara sauce, parmesan cheese and waits every morning to lick the remainder of the milk out of my cereal bowl. She is definitely sneaky about grabbing a little piece of something when you aren't looking and sits in DH's chair at the table until you shoo her away. What can I say, she's a piggy just like me

That is hilarious becuase my cat Chloe begs for food - cat food. She will start mewing and getting in your face and underfoot as soon as we get up in the morning or home in the evening. She doesn't really bother with people food unless it is milk and then if there is a glass with milk in it and no one is watching she will drink it by sticking her paw in it and licking her paw off, repeat until she gets caught or finishes.

Yes, our cat is horrible. He begs for human food and will steal it if he gets the opportunity. He always had a full bowl of cat food to graze on and is not at all hungry or underfed. Crazy cat.

Yes, she crawls up on my lap while I'm eating, but she's really good about waiting until I give her a bit. However, every time she comes in from outside she thinks it's time to eat and will run straight to her bowl and then back to me and rub against my legs and then back to her bowl, etc. It doesn't matter that she ate 10 minutes before she went out or that there is food left in her bowl. She wants a fresh can Confused

Not my current cats (though they do eat dog food!) I had a cat when I was growing up who used to do it all the time. i remember one instance where I was eating a sandwich from Subway, put it down for a second, and the cat leapt at the plate, grabbed the sandwich in her mouth, and ran away!

My cats know that they are not allowed on the table or the counters....That said, they *know* but they don't *obey*....I have them trained to the point that they will get down when I yell "down" and actually they have a fear response built in that if I stand up they are off and in a spot they are allowed to be in almost instantly while looking back at you like "what??"

They always want our food but I have never fed them ppl food (nothing!)...They always wanted our food and if we stepped into the kitchen or w/e they would go for it which is how they got the taste for it....rotten little fluffs....

Chloe loves Wheat Thins. It's ridiculous. I swear, she knows when we bring them home from the grocery store! DH always yells at me for feeding her, but I caught him chewing up pretzels for her a few weeks ago so she could "chew easier". He is such a pushover!

And we free feed her, so she is not hungry!?

I have a cat, but she doesn't really care for human food. She will usually sniff it and walk away. We did discover the other day that she likes liverwurst! hahaha! But that is about it.

lol the first solid food mine ate was chex mix but she doesnt beg like she did when she was little, my male cat loves to drink the leftover milk from cereal, im not big on milk so i dont drink it or use all of it up when i eat cereal so i just put it down and he comes and drinks it up.

My cat has never been big on people food - he usually turns his nose up at tuna, which I think is unheard of!

However, my BF's cat will eat anything she's eating. Popcorn, spaghetti, chips, etc. Her cat even goes through the trash looking for leftovers!

10+ lbs is nothing.. you should see my cats.. (looking for pic.....) Smokey is 22 lbs- and he recently lost weight- he was about 24 lbs but we have him on a diet. Mishka is 16/17 lbs but doesn't look big- not to me anyways. I think they are just a bigger build to begin with but Smokey is fat. People always think he's pregnant, but he's a boy....

Speaking of eating "everything".. Smokey is addicted to bows and ribbons!

Haha yes, my cat is a PIG!! LOL. He's worse than our dog, our dog doesn't beg for food at all, just my cat. He's really bad with bowls, like if your eating cereal or ice cream, he'll just stick his little head in it, and sometimes he gets licks and then it ruins the whole meal! UGH! lol. If she wont stop I would suggest a squirt bottle, sometimes we do this with him, we really need to get ontop of him on this for when the baby comes.?

I have three cats with very different personalities when it comes to food. Moana hates any food but her dry cat food, no joke. She wont eat treats, tuna, shrmp, or even soft cat food. Sierra will eat a few items, but wont beg or grab for any of them. She has this weird thing for water glasses though, she tips unattended glasses of water over. She doesnt even drink the water! She just likes to do it for some reason, it drives me crazy! Kevin, on the other hand will beg and grab for lettuce. Any time I make a salad or get the lettuce out he is right there practically climbing up my leg to get a piece.

We have two cats- a male we raised from the time he was 6 weeks and a female we got from the shelter when she was 8. Loki (the male) never begs unless its tuna, the second a can opener comes out he is right there crying, but other than that he doesnt care.

Freya (the female) is a *horrible* beggar! She has to be right there whenever anyone is eating and is always looking up at you and crying. The funny thing is that she is super picky and will seldom eat what she is begging for! The only meat she will touch is tuna and white meat chicken, but she loves potatoes and broccoli and will eat watermellon until she bursts if we let her! But even after we show her that she doesn't like anything on our plates, she will still set and beg until we are finished eating... Angel
