followup to new RE

Hi ladies,

wednesday I went to meet my new RE. I am now going to a big hospital in boston. She was very smart and on the ball. she explained to me that there are many different reasons for miscarriage. She said I have all my tests done that I should. I asked her about the pregesterone. She said it wont help. if its low to start with its not a good pregnancy. She said stay on it but increasing the progesterone is not going to safe an unhealthy pregnancy. Like my last one. She said even if you were on a high dose progesterone, it wouldnt of changed the outcome. my ob/gyn also said that.

she said sometimes we just never know. I said bad luck 3 times. she said yes unfortunely sometime people have bad luck 7 times.

She wants to give me a bloodtest every week until it hits zero. It was 7 yesterday. they want me to go next week for another one.but I got my period today so I dont think I will need to get one. She said once it hits zero then I will get my period. Next period after this one I have to have a 3D ultrasound. she wants to make sure that septum is very little and exactly how small it is and she wants to make sure all the tissue of the pregnancy is all out. I guess having a heart shaped uterus means that there is a little septum there.

she said this cycle (2nd cycle) I can try on my own. if I get pregnant great. she doesnt want me getting pregnant on this cycle.

then the period after that one (so 3 months) we can do IUI with clomid.

She honestly thinks that it is bad luck and my odds are now 80% that I will have a healthy pregnany.

she was very understanding and I told her that honestly I am scared to get pregnant again.

I asked her about working out. She said I dont want your heart rate to get above 120. I said when I have a positive pregnancy test? She said no now. She doenst want me to do spinning or running. She doesnt want me to do any high intensity training.

Sounds like you had a good appointment. My OB doesn't buy into the progesterone suppliements either. She gave me some literature on it and I think it makes sense. BTW, AF has to be a good sign!

One question--did she say why you had to keep your HR under 120? I thought it was 140.

yes I thought it was 140 too. but she doesnt want me to do anything strenous at all. we will see. I mean I teach a muscle class its more than that. she said I could do muscle classes. so I dont know. I will just be lifting very light weight and mostly instructing more than actually doing the workout.

I'm glad to hear that the appointment went well. Hopefully you will get along and see eye-to-eye for the future. Yay for af to come back so quickly, that's a great sign that you're ready to move on! Best of luck!
