What's your biggest baby splurge?

What is the one thing you've decided to pony-up and buy, despite the cost?? I know a splurge for one person isn't the same as a splurge for another, but what thing are you getting/already got that you just had to have?

Re: What's your biggest baby splurge?

  • Maybe nursery decor.... I really want to make it a fun room.  We live an apt and can't paint so I'm having a local artist replicate the animals from my bedding, hand painting letters for above his crib, and I really want this hippo chair from pottery barn kids for $100... so that would be like $200.
  • Loading the player...
  • Our Quinny stroller...and maybe my car.  I had just bought a new CR-V a year before my BFP, but needed something with a 3rd row once I found out I was pregnant (we travel a lot and have 2 dogs and 2 cats).

  • Definitely the travel system stroller.  It will be the biggest splurge.

  • I have two big splurges.  I feel bad even talking about them as splurges, because I don't think I'll be paying for them myself because my family members are so generous, especially since I'm an law student soon to be graduate in debt up to my ears and recently unemployed!  That being said my big ticket items are beautiful white piqu? bedding set (sheet, blanket, bumper, skirt) for my MINI crib, which is about $150.  And my phil & teds sport buggy stroller, $450.

btw, I haven't purchased/received a thing yet, my baby shower is Oct 24 and I dont anticipate getting anything before then

  • probably room decor.  furniture, as well.. my parents bought our crib.. but we'll be responsible for dressers/gliders.
  • My Bugaboo Chameleon stroller....

    and my nursery furniture

Lilypie Angel and Memorial tickers AL always welcome
  • Construction for the nursery.  Having a hallway and door built to enclose my office to become a proper nursery.  I am also having the contractor put up wainscotting in the nursery, which I guess is more of a splurge since it really is extra.   I haven't received the quote yet, but I'm not hopeful of it being budget friendly. :-)

  • The stroller will be the biggest splurge - bugaboo frog, hopefully in orange (if we can find it).
  • Mine's a  Phil & Ted's Vibe Stroller. I just got it today and I hope it's worth it!!

  • The nursery furniture is our biggest splurge. We were going to just match other cheaper furniture to our crib, but we finally broke down and bought all the matching furniture online last night.

Me too, a Bugaboo Chameleon, there's just no talking me out of it.  The question is only what colors...

  • we haven't gotten anything yet!  But, we're planning on getting a really nice real wooden dresser &  bookshelf.

  • Probably the glider and ottoman which will come to about $700 total. We've been so blessed that family has bought so many of our big items (stroller, car seat, furniture, bedding).

  • We are planning on getting a new car before LO gets here, so I guess that.  But as far as a specific item for him, probably the crib.

  • we've had all the furniture given to us from family members (and it all matched!), so we are very lucky to not have to buy anything except a bookshelf. our biggest expense will be our travel system, but i think one of our sets of parents is getting it!

I want one so bad! I've been on the hunt on Craigslist!! BTW - do they all have carrier attachements????

  • Definitely the nursery furniture.  My parents are paying for the crib, but we are responsible for the rest.  We also bought the travel system and bedding for the crib, but my grandmother is going to be giving us the money for the crib bedding :-)

  • My parents bought the furniture and our travel system, and DH's parents bought us our Lazy Boy recliner. We are very lucky.

The bedding/room decor has been the biggest purchase so far for the baby, for me it was True Religion Maternity Jeans. LOVE.

  • We haven't purchased anything yet. We'll pay a little more for a quality crib. I also want a Beco. I know there are carriers for less, but I want a Beco (particularly the one with little owls on it Smile).
  • Either the new car we got - we both had 2 door cars before.  So we upgraded to an suv.

Or the Baby Jogger Elite stroller.

  • Definitely nursery furniture.  We bought our own Munire crib and dresser and a Best Chairs glider and ottoman and a bookshelf and a changer from Pottery Barn Kids.  Not to mention the bedding set and decor items we have bought!
