Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Saying hello (and a question)

Hi, ladies!

I had my baby on Monday - it was rough, but I wouldn't change it because she is so perfect!! :)

So I just wanted to say hi.

Also, anyone who had stitches, what aside from oral medication can you reccomend to me for the pain? Has anyone used Tucks pads? Should I just use an ice pack like at the hospital?

Mine are hurting a lot today, I am really hoping I didn't do something to mess with them...

tia!

Re: Saying hello (and a question)

  • The ice pack seem to help me the most.  I also used a spray called Dermoplast.  It is a spray pain relieve that you just spray on the location.  You can get it at any pharmacy. GL

  • Get your doctor to get you "EpiFoam."  Works much better than Dermaplast.

    Tucks work too!

  • I used tucks and dermoplast. They put the tucks on the pads in the hospital and I did at home too. Keep on top of your meds, it really helps.

  • I soaked pads in witch hazel and put them in the freezer (basically homemade tucks pads), and it worked great!

  • I never took pain meds, only had a couple of stitches. Ice packs were awesome!

  • I put the tucks on top of the ice packs and sprayed with Dermoplast.  I also had an inflatable doughnut I sat on for support when sitting on hard surfaces.  I also would double up on pads for support.

I didn't take pain meds, but the frozen soaked pads were great. I also recommend using the sitz bath a couple times a day.
