For those of you who have used the internet at a hospital was it just wifi? DH is in the ER with gallstones and an infected gallbladder. He's going to have surgery and will be in 2-3 days. He wants his laptop but we're not sure about how he could get connected there.

Re: How to connect to internet at a hospital?
Wi Fi access only at our hospital
Surely his laptop has a wireless card in it. It's virtually impossible to get one without it now.
Just his power cord. You may have to get a wireless access code from someone at the hospital if the network is secure.
Only been in for deliveries but at our hospital they have computers there for patient use and it is high speed already set up. Good thing because I don't have a lap top. My DH has 2 (one is for work) but I haven't a clue how to bring it up. lol
It totally depends on the hospital. Banner Desert told me that they do not offer WiFi. He could ask his nurse or you could call the information desk and they could let you know if they have it available. You would also need to find out if it is password protected and what the password is.
If they do all you have to do is bring the laptop and when it loads you will have to go to Network(either on the computer's desktop or via the start menu). You will then tell it to connect to a Network. The only one that should be available should be the hospital's. Click on it and it if requires a password then you would enter it then you should be good to go.
