  • Maybe one of those crib net things? Or just give in and put the toddler bed rails on the crib?

DH thinks I'm crazy but it has always been one of my biggest fears that DS is going to try and climb out of the crib and break his arm or something. My dad did it when he was a baby (he was in a cast for 6 months). My grandma went to check on my uncle and he was hanging from the crib rails by his leg, which had gotten stuck.

    this is my fear too!

i thought about just putting his mattress on the floor until he's big enough for the toddler bed lol

  • Ugh Colbi used to climb out of her crib when she was around 11months. I would go in there in the morning because I'd hear her awake and she'd be playing with her toys. I made a 'landing' of pillows next to her crib and quickly made it into the daybed.

ROFL.  He can breathe out of the slats on the sides.  He'll be fine.

  • Put him in a dog crate. That's what we do.

    KIDDING! No one call CPS.

I don't know what you should do, but I'm afraid of this, as well. I guess you just have to listen with your monitor until you can change beds. They toss and turn so much that he would probably fall off the mattress, but its better than falling from the top of the crib.

  • Is there anything in there that he can use to help him climb out? (bumper, toys etc?) If so, take those out!
  • We have had ours on the lowest setting since DD was about 6 months and was pulling up.  We also have bumpers in her crib but when she stands on them, they squish down so she isn't tall enough to get out yet. I do worry about her climbing out but I guess I don't see her "climb" very much so I feel okay about it. She's waaaaaaaaaay to little for the toddler bed!
