Lurkie-looey coming out with questions!

I have some questions for my fellow preggos!!!!

What stroller or travel system are you getting? I really want a travel system so my carseat and stroller will match (what else would I push around at the mall???)

What coming home outfit are you getting? I really wanted to get my little one something from Juicy or Ed Hardy but, I am not sure and even though it'll be cold out, I just want my monkey to be adorable.

Also, I really want to get maternity photos but, I have stretch marks. How can I get rid of them before we shoot? I hired a grrreat photographer who did ALL of my pageant photos last year.

Thanks a ton girls!

  • Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe

     Not getting one

No, you cannot get rid of stretchmarks. They may fade over time if you are lucky.

  • What stroller or travel system are you getting?

We got the Peg Perego Aria Oh stroller and the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio infant seat. They are sold separately but work as a travel system. The stroller is only 9 pounds which is what appealed to me. The infant seat is pricey and I hear it's heavier than, say, a Graco but it's the only one compatible with the stroller.

What coming home outfit are you getting?

I bought a little outfit at BRU that has baby blue pants (w/feet) and a baby blue long sleeved sweater.

No clue on the stretch marks!

  • 1) Chicco Keyfit carseat + cortina stroller system

    2) haven't picked a coming home outfit, I'll find something cute at a local boutique though.

    3) They can airbrush the photos to remove the stretch marks. Or just don't do bare belly ones.

  • I'm getting the Snap N Go stroller frame for when LO is still in her infant car seat. Lighter weight and easier to stroll around the mall.

Haven't decided on coming home outfit. Figured I'd pick my favorite from the outfits we get at the shower.

I'm pretty sure your photographer can get rid of those for you sort of like how they edit out acne.

  • We are getting the Bertini B5 Travel System Stroller - Valencia, it was purchased off of my registry today!!

We haven't decided on a coming home outfit yet, but definitely something warm and cuddly. We only live 2 or 3 minutes from the hospital.

  • All I have to say is you can't get rid of stretch marks. They are scars and may fade over time, but they won't be fading most likely while your pregnant only getting worse in most cases.

  • use makeup over your stretchmarks?
  • - Graco Metrolite Travel System

    - Who knows. DD will be born in the dead of winter and will outgrow whatever we get her in about a week. Whatever we choose will be warm and practical. I'm not wasting our money on something we won't get much use out of.

    - You can't get rid of stretchmarks.

  • As far as a stroller goes, I'm just getting a snap and go.  Voila... no problems with matching.  The carrier just snaps onto the frame.

My baby will be born around opening day for baseball, so I'm hoping to get a tiny little Brewers outfit.  Even if it's a girl.

Good luck with the stretch marks... I think you'll need to get air brushed if you want flawless photos.

  • You sound way too peppy.

My stroller carseat are Maxi Cosi and I hate them.  I have never gotten coming home outfits.  And sorry but you can't get rid of stretch marks.  I'd have your paegent photographer air brush your stomach.

  • We're getting the Maxi-Cosi Foray stroller with the Maxi-Cosi Mico infant seat. They are sold separately, so they aren't considered a travel system, however you can use the infant seat with the stroller and they do match.

The coming home outfit we are getting is a pink cable knit sweater outfit with matching booties. Something warm since she will be born in Dec.

A good photographer should be able to retouch your photos so that no stretch marks will show. Stretch marks are genetic, so you won't be able to get rid of them. If you are really concerned, try using pancake makeup to cover them up. MAC works well on various body parts (I've had to cover a tattoo when I was a dance teacher).

  • We have a Graco Vienna travel system.  We got it for DD three years ago and I don't think they make the Vienna style anymore, but it's very similar to the Alano and Passage by Graco.  It has the snugride carseat.   A lot of people don't like travel systems because they say they are bulky and don't get a lot of use, but we still use the stroller for DS, and DD was in the snugride till DS was born and he was in it for 15 months (neither hit 20lbs till they were over 15 months old).  I loved having something matching and my set wasn't heavy.

We always buy something cute, but inexpensive for a coming home outfit.  We usually just pick something out at a department store.  Actually DS's was from Walmart, but it was a sporty outfit and DH loved it.  We like having something cute for pictures.  We are team green this time, but have the sex written down, so when we get a little closer, we are going to go to a department store at the mall pick otu a boy and girl outfit, have the cashier look in the envelope, and she'll ring up the one we need and gift wrap it for us (we already know they'll do this because someone we know did it) to announce the sex of their baby).

You can't get rid of stretch marks.  They'll diminish after you have the baby, but they are there forever.  You can see if the photographer will airbrush them for you to take them out of the pictures, though.

  • Most photographers will photoshop your stretch marks out. My sister always uses it to make her thighs look thinner...wouldn't it be nice if real life was like that?

  • 1.  UppaBaby Vista and a Peg Perego Si with Chicco KeyFit carseat.

    2.  No clue.  If it is a girl most likely it will be a smocked dress.  I will look for something timeless and not trendy so in 20 years when my kid looks back on it they aren't wondering what in the world they were dressed in.

    3.  Photogs will airbrush out all stretchmarks - don't worry.

  • We're not getting a stroller system.  I am getting a Moby wrap instead so that I can wear the baby and still have two hands free for my 2 yo and my 4 yo.

The home coming outfit will be the same one that my first two wore home.  Thankfully I'm having another boy so we can use it again.  It's sort of a tradition in the family that all the same sex babies wear the same outfit home.  The one I have is incredibly beautiful.  It's blue and white and it's cashmier.  It has a matching hat and booties that goes with it.

And in regards to stretch marks...good luck honey.  You can try anything and everything under the sun to prevent and get rid of them.  But short of getting laser treatments after the baby is born, there's nothing that will get rid of them.  And even laser treatments won't get rid of them...all it will do is help them fade.  Maybe what you can do is have who ever is doing your maternity pictures edit your pictures to smooth out your skin on your belly and remove the stretch marks.  It may cost you a little more but if you're that concerned about it, it may be worth it to you.

    Good luck!

    Actually, no can do.

I don't think it's good for my monkey. Well, maybe I should google it?

  • Please don't put your kid in an Ed Hardy T-shirt. No
