Trying to Get Pregnant

Now, what are your splurges?

By saving money in other little ways, what do you "splurge" on?

For DH and I, we have unlimited web on our phone and every single movie channel. These total about $50 extra each month over the next-lower level, and I'm ashamed to say I let DH talk me into keeping these when I tried to lower our expenses.

We also "splurge" on dining out and going for ice cream. I know I shouldn't, but I keep figuring that we might as well enjoy it now before it's baby time.

And we have a separate vacation fund that I put $50 a check into. This will not go away, it just might get smaller.

  • We splurge on having the DVR and the HD channels on tv, we use to have the movie channels but we cut those out. We also splurge on eating out once every week or a trip to golden spoon. Also DH will buy himself the occasional video game and I'll by myself some random item at target or BB& B, lol

Oh, yes ... bags! I like to splurge on Kathy Van Zeeland bags but only at Marshall's or TJ Maxx.

  • our splurges are planned lol...from each of DH's paychecks and his two monthly bonues we put so much into our Fun Money account if we want something big we spend from there. our latest splurges were: my dh got his new xbox 360 and many many games, and i got a new laptop and wireless router for our house!! our little splurges that are monthly a nice dinner out and a movie at a real movie theater!

  • 1. Dinning out but since I married DH I have cut those considerably. He loves it.

    2. shoes - but I have been good lately considering how I used to be.

3.In the next few months we'll be spending some money on gifts b/c it's my bday (oct), our 1 year anniversary (nov), DH's Bday (dec), and holidays

  • I splurge on www.etsy.com.  There are sooooooo many wonderful handmade creations on there.  It's addicting. :)
  • Since having DD I splurge mostly on her by buying nice clothes and shoes.  DH likes his video games so he buys those when he wants a new one.  I haven't gotten anything for myself in quite awhile.  I think I need to change that!

  • Lately we haven't been able to splurge on anything.  The wonders of trying to buy a house.  Bah.  When we are done with the house we plan on driving out to Des Moines and going to Joe's Crab Shack and have some amazing Lobster!!!
  • We love going out to eat on the weekends.  Our favorite is a Nakato, a Japanese steakhouse. So good!  I also can't resist buying home decor!
  • Me:

Lattes, Netflix, going out for dinner, books, Fossil purses

    DH:

Breakfast at his work's cafeteria, random electronics, Chinese food

  • We splurge on concert tickets....DH and I are concert addicts. We have so many good acts come to Mobile, Gulf Shores and the Biloxi casinos, it is hard to pass them up.

I personally splurge on yoga classes for myself.

  • Underwear. I am embarrased to say I spent $16 on one pair of panties from Fredericks of Hollywood. I also tend to skimp less on bras too. The more you pay the longer they last though!
  • Honestly a splurge for me would be an occasional shirt from Target or Old Navy and coffeemate for work.

DH- paintball stuff for a monthly paintball game. Can't wait for it to be too cold for paintball. I am tired of cleaning up after each game only for him to string it back out a week later to get ready for the next one!

DH and I took a road trip down to New Orleans then across highway 10 (is that it?) to Orlando. We stayed at the Hard Rock in Biloxi and loved it down there in Mississippi! I wish it wasn't so much to fly down there.

Oh cool! Hard Rock and IP are my two favorite casinos in Biloxi.

That's what I love about Mobile- it is 2 hours from Destin and New Orleans, and 30 minutes from Biloxi and Gulf Shores. Plus, Mobile has Mardi Gras and the Delta to enjoy watersports in. You can't beat that.

Let me know if y'all get back down this way! I would be happy to give you some tips of other cool places to go and things to do!

  • We enjoy going out for a semi-nice dinner once or twice a month.

For DH: He is a photographer and there is always a new lens or toy or something that he "needs"

  • We splurge on vacations.  If we are staying somewhere for more than one night, we want it to be really nice.

We also splurge on our DVR/HD/300 channel Dish package.  We figure the money we spend on HBO and the DVR is still cheaper than the 2 of us going to the movies a few times a month.
