DS can sit up using his hands (on the floor or on his legs for support), and sits okay if he's holding something in his hands (like a toy, I think it helps his balance)...but still does not sit up completely unassisted. His Dr. didn't seem that concerned at his appt. last month...but he's inching towards 8 months, and still so wobbly. He's almost crawling, and can't sit. I swore I wouldn't, but I'm having a hard time not comparing milestones to DD....she was so far ahead. I know boys tend to be slower....but this seems way behind to me? When would you be concerned?
Re: 7 months...still not sitting up completely on his own.
Not until the doctor is concerned. Just keep helping him do situps to strengthen his tummy muscles. I'm sure he'll get there soon.
I wouldn't worry that much about the sitting/not sitting.
Does he move around, look for toys, try to get to them? As long as he's making some effort to move (even if he's not totally successful) I wouldn't worry.
