Favorite toddler shoe brands?

Liam needs some shoes for the fall/winter.  I loooove the See Kai Runs, and am looking for something similar - flexible sole, etc.  But hoping to only spend $20 or so a pair since his feet grow so fast.  I am already looking at size 6 for his winter shoes!

So what shoes do you love, and where do you buy them?

  • Have you looked at the Circo brand ones at Target? I really like them... dd has had several pair from there and walks just fine! Not sure I buy all the hoopla over Stride Rite and the more expensive brands!

Well Target only has like 2 shoes for boys LOL.  And the sole was sooooo thick I felt like he couldn't even walk right in them.  It was like an inch thick and he tripped in them constantly.  But I haven't actually looked at their winter shoe selection, those were sandals.

  • Have you only looked at the Target in Briar Creek? I think they have a terrible shoe section. Try looking at the one at Southpoint.
  • We love the Champion brand at Payless.  They hold up wonderfully, aren't bulky and are only right at $20. Connor is on his 3rd or so pair.  We get him these but they make lots of other ones.

Oh, and I have a big footed monster too.  The most recent pair we got him is a size 7.5 wide.  I dread buying his shoes when he's 16!

  • Nora has two pair of shoes now thanks to her Grandma (MIL).  She got them at stride rite at a buy one get one 1/2 off.  Anyway...the stride rite person (who MIL likes bc he fit her other grand daughter for all her shoes and she's now 4 years old) said that Nora was developmentally past soft soled shoes now.  She was only cruising at the time, but is really close to walking full time now.  From all the talk on here about shoes, I thought she would need soft soled shoes, but it seems that's not the case.  I'm not saying he is an expert, but he's been working at that store for at least 3 years now and that is what he recommends bc I questioned why she couldnt have the flexible soles (bc the shoes I really wanted for her had flexible soles!)

  • Eli has recently had a foot growth explosion!  He started off the summer in a size 3, and now I'm buying 6s!  Needless to say I couldn't afford to keep him in the SKR I love.

I was just in Target Tuesday and they actually had a pretty big selection of boy's shoes.  I have noticed that now that his foot is a little bigger, there are more options.

And I also was impressed with Payless' shoes.  I rarely go in there but was out that way last week and found a cute pair of brown casual shoes for him, and they were very soft and flexible.

They have a ton of options now for fall/winter. I cought AT 2 pr already....but they were size 4's. They had a good selection of all sizes, many with softer soles. GL!

  • Sounds like I need to give Target another try!  I'll check out the one at Southpoint instead of Brier Creek.

And I never even thought Payless had kids' shoes.  Thanks for the suggestions! :)
