I'm trying to get my shopping done early since I need to have surgery in November. I'm at a loss as to what to get DS though. He's really into trains and cars right now, but he has plenty of them.
Parenting's DR kit from target was a big b-day hit for us. She loves it!!
A DR kit? What does that stand for?
Doctor would be my guess...
My parents are getting DD the KidKraft Easel from Costco which is REALLY nice. I went to Discount School Supply and got her a bunch of stamps with handles and huge stamp pads, craft stuff. she's really into that kind of stuff right now.

We are getting this for Jack for his birthday this month. He's always trying to listen to our hearts, and the baby, with his stethoscope.
Jack loves his kitchen and his art table. I always keep paper, playdoh, washable markers and crayons at his ready so he can sit down anytime and drawer or color. He loves writing me letters and taking my order then going to his kitchen to cook it up.
I think anything that encourages imaginative play at this age is good.
Jack's other favorites are:
his train table
golf set
basketball hoop (he also has a small door mount for his bedroom closet door that we sticky adhered to the door at his height)
t-Ball set - Jack is ready for a baseball set now though
Super Sounds Soccer with a proper soccer ball (it comes with a tiny inflatable ball that is really cheesy)
He also loves his Legos. We have the 2-4yr old Lego brand.
Ah, yes a doctor kit. I was thinking.....a dining room kit, thats a funny gift! Haha!
Well, I'm ashamed to even admit this, but he pretty much has every single thing listed here.....all but the soccer thing. I was thinking of some kind of soccer thing. Good idea!
I really want to get him nothing because we don't need anything, but that would make me a bad mom huh? He's the first grandchild on both sides and they both live within 10 miles and both LOVE garage sales. So yeah....he's way beyond spoiled! We mostly put money away for his college, but I wanted to get him one or two other things besides the cape I got him and the plastic dinos he picked out at the museum.

This is our delima as well. She has everything. I am not to sure what to get DD either.
Re: Xmas presents for 2.5 yr old...
DD's big gift is going to be the Melissa & Doug easel. I think she'll also get a mini Poang chair from Ikea.
I recently got her the Fisher-Price recycling truck and she loves it.

A plasma car. Our neighbors have them and DD loves to play with them.
