1. When do you plan to?
2. Are you aware of your company's policies pertaining to pregnancy leave?
JW. Yesterday I came in late because I was t/u and had the worse day at work ever on Tuesday (but my boss came even after I did - because Tuesday sucked that bad). So, obv I looked like crap yesterday. Today, Im feeling better but am feeling quite adverse to food. My boss just asked if I am feeling okay, and so the paranoia sets in.......
Re: If you havent told your boss yet..
I'm planning to tell her next Friday.
Yes, I have looked into the maternity leave policy - 12 weeks unpaid after a year of service. . .
1. In a month I plan on telling
2. I'm part time, and yes I'm aware of the leave policy.
I am planning to hold off until it's painfully obvious.
Yes I inquried on maternity leave was advised the office doesn't have a policy per say. Basically they follow FMLA- 12 week unpaid standard.
I plan to tell my boss next Friday, after our NT scan. I feel like some co-workers may already be suspecting that I might be, since I am already wearing maternity pants, with some what of a bump (this is my second).
Yes, I am aware of our leave policy, as long as it has not changed since last time. 12 weeks, unpaid, unless I use sick/vacation leave (which I only have about 6 weeks of).
No, I will probably tell her at about 9-10 weeks.
Yes, I know the policy.
1. No- I plan to tell when I am 14 weeks or so (beginning of October).
2. Yes, basically it's the 12 weeks FMLA with 3 weeks paid at 100%, 3 weeks paid at 66% and the remaining weeks are unpaid (unless I choose to use PTO, which I likely won't- so that I have PTO to use if baby gets sick or for my brother's wedding, etc)
1. I'll tell when I get to 2nd tri - will wait longer if I can manage (my office is very social, and we talk about our lives a lot).
2. I know the policy, but it doesn't matter. I'm going to be a SAHM, so I'll be leaving.
sahm ~ toddler breastfeeder ~ cloth diaperer ~ baby wearer
i told my supervisor after my first appt/blood test.
we have no maternity leave.... ugh... need to go talk to the next level supervisor about advanced sick leave. I've been postponing that talk b/c during the same conversation I am telling her I am not going on pentagon rotation with my baby only 7 months old. ...which means she'll move me to another division....
But sooner than later would be better.
I told my bosses on this past Tues, I waited until we saw the bean for the first time.
I do know our policy, 12 weeks paid.
1. When do you plan to? - After my 12 week appointment on the 22nd.
2. Are you aware of your company's policies pertaining to pregnancy leave? - Yes since I just used it not that long ago.
Everyone knows as of Monday of this week. But most suspected since I was sick with MS all the time.
I get 12 weeks unpaid (yay), but we haven't decided if I am going to work or not. I don't make all that much, so to find daycare for the baby and gas and all that, and DH would rather I watch the baby, so I may stay home.
I haven't told anyone at work yet. I'm not really sure when I'll tell them, but probably in the next few weeks.
If I'm still at this job, I'm taking the full 12 weeks (maybe more) that I get with FMLA. It's not paid through work, but I have my own short term disability that I got prior to getting pregnant that will cover some of my salary.
Evelyn (3.24.10), Graham (5.30.13) & Miles (8.28.16)
1. I plan on waiting till the beginning of 2nd tri.
2. I am a ballet teacher so there is no maternity leave or policies. My boss just recently had her first child and I took over her entire schedule for her so Im hoping she will be very sympathetic. Im not even sure if I will be able to teach the entire pregnancy since I wont be able to jump, turn or do anything "strenuous". My boss taught up until the day her water broke so Im hoping I can too. After birth, there will only be one month of classes left until summer break so I dont have to worry about leave after that. I am also planning on being a SAHM.

I wanted to wait till 2nd Tri but I am going to tell on Tues when we get back from the weekend. I'm starting to show.
I already had DD while I worked here so know policy. 6 wks disability at 60% salary, 6 wks unpaid.
1. 2nd tri - no need to notify her if god forbid something were to happen in 1st tri and I don't have work that goes that far in the future
2. yes - we can take our accrued sick and vacation time and then take up to 6 months unpaid (I think) although last time I came back part time after 3 weeks.
I haven't told my boss yet. . . I'm waiting until my NT scan at 12 weeks, then I'll spill the beans. Plus a colleague just told her she was pregnant, and due 5 days before me, so I want to let that sink in before I share.
In Canada, we get 1 year off for maternity -- paid at around 60% of your salary from the gov't. My company tops me up, so I get about 90% of my salary for the full year. Woohoo.
1. Sometime after first tri, but I'm not sure how because I never see her. So I guess it will be over the phone or via email...
2. Yep. 12 weeks PTO @100% and if necessary (meaning, medically) 6 weeks PTO @60%
1. I think i will tell my department after the 1st tri is over, there are only two other girls in the dept and they have been asking me since I got married when we were going to start a family. The rest of work, I will prob wait as long as possible. Have recently been given more responsibilty and want to make sure I'm established with the new job.
2. 12 weeks, 8 of which are full pay and the last 4 are not.
i didnt tell my boss- he asked me, and i was only 8 weeks (wasnt planning on telling him til probably 12 weeks). i was standing in his office discussing a work issue and he was staring me up and down (made me feel dirty) and after i was done talking he asked (we're not close or friends, very inappropriate). i was soooo mad that he had the nerve to ask and of course i couldnt lie. then the jackass goes on to say "Well i thought so, i was looking at you yesterday and you had that appointment a few weeks ago..." Mind you, i was only 8 weeks, so i wasnt showing, a little bloated yes, but not showing showing.
i was sure to make it abundantly clear for him to keep his mouth shut about it. damn ignorant men.
1. I am in the process of finding a new job! My contract just completed with my previous employer. I have to find one fast before I start to show. I know my chances of getting hired would be lower if I have belly. Unfortunately in Asia, they can choose not to hire you because you are pregnant.
2. As long as I have been with the new employer for at least 90 days, I will get some maternity benefits. As a foreigner, I get 8 weeks paid leave and up to 16 weeks of total leave.?
My boss knows.I had to tell her the day after I found out this time as well because I was spotting and I have a history of miscarriage and I knew I would be having to repeat betas again. I've had to go in 3 times already and I go back next Thursday. She is very understanding. She is the only one at work that knows.
My leave policy is simple: FMLA - must exhaust sick then vacation time but we also have a short term disability policy that pays 60% of my income after 2 weeks.
