2nd Trimester

Anyone else have really sore hips/legs?

My hips and legs have been aching so badly in the evenings this week.

I am very busy and on my feet at least 9 hours a day; then I cook dinner and clean for at least an hour each night. Normally this is not a problem and I thought if I kept myself active throught the pregnancy that I would maintain my energy.

HAHAHAHA.

What an idiot I was.

The very thought of going down the stairs to flip over the laundry, or even walking to the kitchen for a glass of water makes me want to cry after about 7 pm. I slowly hobble around sighing and grunting whenever I bend or stand up.

During the day is fine, but evenings I turn into an old granny.

  • That's hard if you're also on the your feet all day. When I was pg w/ DD I taught 4th grade and was up all day. This time, I'm just so worn out from picking DD up and playing with her. For both pregnancies, I've found yoga to really help with stretching things out, especially for my hips.

  • Not so much my legs but my feet!!!!! They hurt to the point that when I wake up in the morning I almost fall to the floor because they hurt so much to walk on. I've tried soaking them and everything but nothing works so I just deal with it.?
  • I'm pretty busy & active... I think you just have to be conscious about taking breaks now and then, even if you don't feel like you need them at the time. I can go go go all day but I will pay for it later. Or I can try to take a more reasonable pace, sit down for a drink of water sometimes, and not be hurting later that evening.
  • Mine have been sore but only b/c i SIT all day. So if i don't get up frequently I am in pain when I finally do! And the front of my pelvis area is really sore today. Is that RLP?

  • Yes!  By the end of the work day, my hips are killing me and it's most painful to get up and down.  I really need to try yoga...

  • I've just started noticing today in fact, that my hips are hurting really badly. I seriously thought my hips wouldn't need to grow, because ever since I was like 15, my SM would tell me that I had big hips which were great for when I give birth (I guess NOT)
  • I teach and am up on my feet all day during the week.  By the time I get home from work, I feel almost immobile.  I can only imagine it's going to get worse.  It's so bad that if we go anywhere and I have to step up on down on a curb, I have to hold on to DH so I don't fall.  I almost feel like I need a walker.  And don't even get me starting on how bad my hips hurt when I lay down to go to bed at night...
  • I was up for 3 hours yesterday setting up my classroom, and OMG am I paying for it now. ?I sat down for a few minutes out of that time to organize my desk, but other than that I was walking around. ?I am dying right now! :(
