Stupid question re: car seats

Please excuse my ignorance.....I really can't find an answer online.

Where do I put the car seats once the new baby arrives?  I assume my toddler's convertible car seat stays behind the passenger (please correct me if I'm wrong) because it'll be awkward getting him in/out of his car seat if it were to be in the middle. So, if that's true, where does the infant seat go?  Middle or behind the driver?   I apologize if this is a stupid question.

Thanks for any help!

  • I put one behind the driver and the other behind the passenger.  I cannot put them next to each other because then the older child will drop things on the smaller child or poke at the smaller, etc.  I can't leave them that close unsupervised.
  • I am hoping I can move my DD's convertible from the middle to behind the passenger and put the infant seat in the middle.  I have some time to worry about it but I am pretty sure they will fit side by side.

  • In my car and my Moms car the toddler is behind the driver and baby behind the passenger.

In DH car the baby is in the middle and C is on passenger side.

Both still RF in their Marathons.

  • I was told (and they would ONLY install it this way at my inspection station) that the baby goes behind the driver and the toddler goes behind the passenger..........

  • In my car, in order for the infant seat to fit properly, it needs to go behind the passenger seat.  The driver's seat would be too far front to drive comfortably.  Therefore, my son will sit in his convertible seat forward facing behind the driver's seat.  The back seat in my car doens't allow for a car seat to install properly in the middle.

  • I have a van with bucket seats so no options but in my DH's car, we had each seat on each side, one behind the passenger and one behind the driver - the car seat really don't fit well if you have one in the middle and one on a side - at least in his car and then you end up dealing with the whole touching thing which I know is worse when they are older but I didn't want my older DD in arms reach of the baby at that point.
