  While I do think it sounds like a silly question and she should consult her OB rather than Dr. Nesties, I know when my dad had thyroid cancer (when I was 5, bro was 1) and got home from the hospital after having surgery and radiation treatment, my bro and I were not allowed to be near him (closer than 5 feet or something) for at least a week, and mom wasn't supposed to sleep in the room with him.

  Okay, that was a serious run-on sentence, but I'm not awake enough to fix it.

  my BFF's dad had cancer and radiation. her kids were not allowed to sit on his lap during the treatments while he was still radiactive or wahtever. i think it was like a week or so.

  I never really thought about it before either. When I was 15 my cousin was 13 and had cancer, I remember not being able to go to the hospital to visit her for awhile after her treatments, and when I did get to see her we couldn't touch her because her skin was so fried it would peel off from touching it.
