Question about your shampoo

Has anyone else had issues with their hair being super greasy after washing it no matter what shampoo/conditioner combo you use?  I can't see to find anything that works anymore and was wondering if anyone had the same problem or any suggestions?

TIA!

Re: Question about your shampoo

  • You might try using less or no conditioner.. my hairdresser actually suggested this to my SIL this evening. ?

  • i had that problem, and i switched to the aussie brand for oily hair and it has really helped
  • i forgot to add that instead of washing my hair everyday i went to every other day, and that has helped too.
  • Try Suave Clarifying Shampoo.    Yup...it's cheap, but was reviewed as one of the best value shampoos out there.  It also removes all the gunk build up.
  • No but my hair is a frizzball. Now that it has been cooler it has calmed down. But I swear this baby is making me look like I've stuck my finger in a light socket.

  • You shouldn't be washing your hair everyday at all. Skip the conditioner, use a light leave in if you really need it.

I love love love L'Oreal Professional Volume Expand shampoo.

  • I've had the opposite problem.  My hair has been unbelievably dry.  Then again, I had a load of blonde highlights put in so I'm sure that doesn't help.

  • Lots of good suggestions.  Glad to know I'm not the only one who had issues.  I like the Aussie brand, but can't seem to find the right combo.  Will look for that oily version tomorrow after work though.

I would skip washing my hair daily but I sweat A LOT while sleeping.  Might have to suck it up for the next few months.

Actually washing with shampoo strips you hair of natural oils so I would recommend using shampoo every other day. I condition everyday because otherwise my hair is brittle and stringy.

  • Do not use suave! Coming from a hairstylist...it is the equivalence of using dish soap on your hair. Best tips are washing hair less and use a professional product that clarifies.

Could you also answer something for me?  I've had people tell me Pantene is the worst thing you can ever use.  True? and if so, please enlighten me.

Can you tell I like the cheaper brands that I probably shouldn't? lol

  • I had this problem until I switched shampoos. I also sometimes shampoo twice.

Yeah, I'd love to know this too. I've heard Pantene is the absolute worse. And what is a brand you DO recommend?
