tttc rp: flu shots?

For those that remember me...are you getting a flu shot or been told to get one by your re/ob? What about the h1n1?

Our ob told us to get the standard flu shot but not the h1n1 since there hasn't been enough testing on it yet.

    Work highly recommends that I get the flu shot and the H1N1 if it is available. The CDC announced that they will not even test for H1N1 this fall, and will treat all flus equally, so that freaks me out. I think I will get the traditonal flu shot as I usually do, and the H1N1 vaccine if I am not KTFU.

    my ob told me if i'm not pg. by oct. when the flu shot is due to come out then go ahead and get it.  but if i am pg. then i can't get it till past 14wks pg. 

    however, we're not even TTC till oct. so i think i may plan on getting the flu shot.

    i'm anti vaccines so i'm not going to get the flu shot.  one time i did get it i got the damn flu.  and is the flu so bad that you want a shot to maybe, possibly keep it away?  meh, up to you.

    side bar:  hi boo!!  i used some of the body spray that i got from my elfster today and i thought of you.  i been missing you girl.  how you been?  how are the pets?

    Just my opinion but I will not be getting the swine flu vaccine.  I am little worried about how rushed its production might have been - they may not have worked out the kinks?  I work with vaccines all day long, so I am definitely not anti-vaccine, but I like to see that some sort of safety record has been established first.  I am not so sure that I am at higher risk for the swine flu, than the regular flu virus.  I don't think that the media has been very good about publishing the statistics of swine flu incidence and fatalities in comparison to other viruses/disease conditions.

    ITA.  I got the flu shot last year while pregnant and will get it again this year.  I will not get the H1N1 shot nor will the boys be getting it.  I think there is still so much unknown about it.  I truly terrifies me.  Makes me feel a little better knowning that someone who works with vaccines is also on the fence about it!
