I called my dr. this morning and they wanted me to come in. I went in and everything looks fine - they think its just the "normal aches and pains of pregnancy."
Totally off topic: my sides around the hips are KILLING me at night. I wake up to roll over and the one I've been sleeping on really hurts. Would a snoogle help or not so much? From the pics I've seen, it doesn't really look like my hips would be laying on it, but maybe having my leg elevated puts less pressure on my hips? I am trying to have my leg slightly elevated on a pillow but its not working so well..
Re: Update on ache in stomach & snoogle
Glad to hear things are good!!!
As for the snoogle...I am choosing to not use it because to me it didn't seem like it would work to relieve the pressure on my hip.
I don't normally sleep on my sides because it pushes my hip out of place and then I have to get it popped back by the doctor and physical therapist....so they worked with me to create a bevy of pillows to hold me together so I didn't have to worry about seeing them a couple times a week to get readjusted.... here is what I do....
WEDGE!
The wedge is going to be your best friend...you can wedge your belly and lean forward into it (so you are actually laying on the front part of your hip instead of dead on the side)....or you can wedge your back...so you can "back sleep" at an angle and thus the pressure and weight is on the back side and not directly on the hip.
Add to the wedge the BOUY!
I throw a pillow between the thighs and knees...this keeps your hips properly aligned.
Also make sure you have something that properly supports your neck...check out "side sleeper pillows" they are contoured...and this is going to align your neck with your spine and thus your spine is aligned with your hip because you have a whole line going down the body. This is going to help with back pain and hip pain.
So far so good for me...it isn't 100% or at least not for me...but I am not throwing my hip out of joint anymore and it gives my body enough relax to reduce the pain from my injury.
ETA: I call them the wedge and bouy but they are just regular pillows that are different firmnesses (you gotta find what works for you). They do sell belly wedges though, so if you want one of those specifically you can usually find them at motherhood.
