Which spelling for this girl's name?

We're having another girl, and while we're not sure we're 100% on this name, both of us like the name Bridget(te). We both have different opinions about how it should be spelled though (if we did decide to go with this name).

What do you like better?

Bridget? or Bridgette?

Oh, DD#1's name is Charlotte, not sure if that would have any bearing on anyone's decision...I was thinking the 'ette' might be a little too much with the 'otte' of DD#1....

I have never seen Bridgette. Only Bridget and Brigitte. I prefer Bridget.

Wow, I had never seen the spelling Brigitte before (that I can think of), so that wasn't even a blip on the radar...interesting. I'll toss that one out at DH too. We know it will be enevitable, but we'd like to avoid her having to spell her name out for strangers in the future (we're not really into creative spellings).

Bridget, definitely. The other spelling is too similar to your DD's name and the Brigette spelling is just NMS.

Okay, as a Bridget, I CONSTANTLY have to spell my name out for people... (usually the fastest way is "it's like a bridge you drive over with a T at the end) people want to spell it "Bridgette, Bridgit or Brigid"

There are a number of ways to spell it, and no one is ever going to get it right... the only thing I can say about spelling it Bridget, is that no one is going to mess up the pronunciation of it...

My other note is, I am glad you are going with the name Bridget... it is an awesome name, and the few other Bridgets I have met, have all been very cool, fun, independent people... It is a "normal" name, that isn't over used like so many others! WTG!! :-)

What are you thinking for a middle name?

We think we're going to use a mn of Kathleen...my mom and his mom are both Kathleens, and we thought it'd be a nice way to honor them...
