So many places, under 2 is free- amusement parks, the zoo, play places, etc. My youngest is 2.5, and today was the first time I kinda thought, Hmm he might not pass for under 2 anymore.
Not at 2.5. I did like 2 days after Bella's first birthday when I knew she wouldn't even get out of the sling at the children's museum. And I felt kinda bad then. But 6 months later? You should be paying. Especially at something where they're going to be actually enjoying it.
DD is the size of a 4-5 year old. I don't think we would get away with it even if we tried.
She did get into the movie theater free a couple months ago. DH was holding her, said we wanted tickets for Ice Age, and didn't mention # of people. They gave us 2 adult tickets.

Nope, DS knew his age when he turned 2 and then 3. If I lied he would probably say something! Plus, I would just feel too guilty and I don't think it is really a good lesson to teach him to lie to get what he wants.
We were at the zoo this morning and we went up to buy tickets for the special bird exhibit. The sign says two and under are free so I asked the kid working the desk "Does that mean she is free if she is two and a half or is it only if you are under two?" I just wanted to verify that under three is free but this kid looked at me like he could honestly not care less. I could have told him I was 2.5 and he would have let me in. So, no, I don't lie about her age.

I think that since the policy is "2 and under" you were ok. So yes, while she is 2.5yrs, she is technically 2. So I would assume anyone the age of 2 and under the age of 2. This includes all 2 year olds, regardless if they are about to be 3 the next day.
And to answer the question, no. She is so small she looks like a 2 yr old, but once she opens her mouth you can tell she is older. Plus, she is loving that she is almost 5, so if I tried to pass her off as a 3 year old or something, she would let me have it right in front of the cashier!
Re: Do you lie about your child's age to get him/her in for free to places?
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.

This. I'm pretty much honest to a fault.

Eehhh I don't think they even realize.
No.
Even if I wanted to, I couldn't b/c my 2 [almost 3] year old is 38lbs and 42 inches tall.
I'm pretty sure most people think he's 4 anyway.
