augmentin (sp) and vomiting?

DS has double ear infections, amox did nothing so he's now on augmentin (sp) as of last night. Well, his fever is still 102.5 and he's now vomiting.

Of course with the ear pain he's not wanting to eat/drink much at all so I'm worried about him getting enough fluids.

Anyone else DC experience vomiting when taking augmentin? Did you just keep giving it or didi your pedi switch medications?

    My DS had a horrible time with augmentin and throwing up.  I called the pedi and said I was not giving another dose of that.  We switched to omnicef and my son tolerated that much better - still some diarrhea but not more vomiting.


    There can be some trial and error. I've heard of a lot of kids having a much harder time with omnicef than augmentin, but apparently my son reacts differently.

    I don't think my kids ever had Augmentin but I know I will never take it again.  No vomiting but the build up of gas was enough to make me vomit.   It certainly did a number on my stomach so it's got to be harsh on a little person's tummy.  Hope you find the one that works best.
