Vacation

For those of you who are FA parents, or those who are paper pregnant waiting for the call...how do you plan your vacations? Are they last minute or do you schedule them out?

    our vacation last year to Maui was planned before we knew we'd be taking DD. We had to ask permission from the judge to take her with us, but that was no problem at all...and I had to add her to my airline ticket.

    Everything is on hold until DD comes home which will be this month. We have not had a planned vaction in two years. Our vacation money is how we financed our adoption. We currently have a weekend getaway with DD planned for 12/5 and I am working on one in November with the whole family.

    We've both been saving our time all year, just in case we received a referral and had to whisk away to Peru.  Since we now know that's unlikely to happen in 2009, we'll both loose much of our vacation time if we don't take it before the end of the year, and my husband is required to take two weeks off all at once, we're now planning a trip for November.

    We are planning the time so that I will still roll over as much time as allowable into next year, for use when we bring our child(ren) home.
