Olive oil for diaper rash?

Do I still need to use a liner. Brooke has a slightly red area around her girl parts that I want to clear up before it gets worse (first rash...caused by RLR treatment...hmmmm?) Anyway, I went and bought Avenno, Wendela (or whatever it's called) and Burt Bees diaper rash cream. Of course on Polka dots and pink stripes site it says they are all 3 stars....errr! But it suggests olive oil. Do I still need to use liners. I really only have one blanket I can cut up and it's half gone now....

I'm also only using prefolds now with no cover and lots of air time.

we've used buts bees with prefolds and havent had any issues-it washes right out!

I also have used Burt's Bees, California Baby and Aveeno with pre-folds with no issues.
