Relocation Help - Broomall to Bryn Mawr

Hi Ladies-

We are relocating from Delaware to an area between the Philly airport (hubby's job) and Conshohocken (my new job).  We have heard that the Broomall/Newton Square area and Haverford/Bryn Mawr area are really nice.  Do you have recommendations for apartments or neighborhoods in those (or other nearby) areas?  Also, how would the commute be for either/both of us for those that might travel 476 during the day?

Thanks so much for the help!!

  • I'm in Broomall and really like it.  Its takes about 20-25min to the airport and about 15-20min to Conshohocken (all depending on traffic).  GOOD LUCK!

  • Both areas you described are very nice (and pricey- especially the Bryn Mawr/Haverford area).  DH works in Newtown Square and I work in the city.  We live in King of Prussia and I commute by train into the city.  I hightly recommend your DH travel that way (the trains go to the airport) if possible.  476 and 76 can be brutal during rush hour but there is nothing you can do about that.  The highways are just terrible here.

  • They are both great areas.  I like a few of the apartment complexes in Bryn Mawr. Their names aren't at the top of my head, but I drive by them all the time.  One of them is Home Properties of Bryn Mawr.  PM me for more info :)
  • I'm in Broomall now and love it.  I'm less then 5 minutes from 476. I work in the city so I have to take a 15 minutes drive to Radnor to catch the R5.
  • great areas, but also very pricey.  try looking for apts or condos for rent on craigslist.org.  where i work we have two offices, one in newtown square and one in conshy and they are both convienent to all the major highways but it can get very congested at times.
  • Have you considered Springfield? Great location between the airport and conshohocken and many alternate routes to get back and forth not using 476. We actually chose Springfield for it's central location and ease of getting just about anywhere. Let me know if you have any questions. Lots of great little neighborhoods and communities.
