Moms of two - please come in!

I know I posted something similar to this about a month or two ago, but my  husband and I are going to have "the talk" this weekend about baby #2.

I wanted to get some pros of having two children from some women who have two.  I plan on showing this to him during our discussion this weekend.

So, let's hear it ladies, what are the advantages of having two children.

Thanks!

  • I'll let you know in a few weeks, haha :).  So far, its crazy!

  • The other day in the car Sierra was eating puffs and Savannah started babbling (it was like she was telling Sierra that she was hungry) so Sierra started handing puffs to Savannah...too cute.  Anyway, my girls are just starting to interact with each other and become aware of each other.  They can make each other laugh.  Bath time is so entertaining now watching them splash each other and giggling.
  • 2 children is wonderful, eps since ours are close in age (2 1/2 years apart), they always have a playmate and I've never heard "I'm Bored" for either child.

The earlier the second child comes along makes for an easier transition for the older child and eventually they wont remember  the other not being there.

  • So far, besides things being a bit crazy, there are just more children to love!  You think that you could never love a child as much as you love your first, but then you meet that second one, and that first moment they open your eyes and appear to look at you, wow, your heart just melts all over again.  They bring a totally different personality, even from birth, and have a different yet similar look!  I keep calling Hannah "he" becuase I'm so used to a boy, but I love my little girl.  She looks so much like Eli at times, and then at other times, totally different.  Its intersting to see Eli try to help, or share his toys, and well, its interesting even watching him get jealous and try to push her away.  I am looking forward to the diversity that a second child brings to our home.  Especially once i start to heal up and can start to enjoy Eli again...I still enjoy him, I just can't tackle him and play with him yet...too sore :(.  Good luck with your decision.  You should have your DH hold a newborn, that does it sometimes for the guys, haha.  My brother in law held Hannah and was like, Okay, lets have another one!  Though, he has already wanted another one.  Haha.  :)
  • Do I count?  I have two but it will be a different situation.  It is wonderful when I see them laugh and play together.  It is HARD at times!!  But SOOOOO rewarding.  We give them their last bottle at night and then we bring them into their room and DH and I take turns kissing each one.  They have now taken to holding on to each other, like they know that they are going to be seperated and want to say goodbye.  My 4 year-old nephew comes over often and I have watched him many times.  The little ones look up to him and just crack up at him.  He loves being the "big boy".

I am so happy that I have two... they have someone to grow up with, someone to lean on, someone to get into trouble with Stick out tongue.  I also look way into the future and am happy to have two for the fact of grandchildren, the fact that they will have someone there for the when we are gone.

Sure there are times I want to pull my hair out but having two is the best thing in my life hands down!
