When's the last time you bought clothes?

I keep putting off buying any clothes b/c what's the point if I'm going to be PG any day now, right? Well, that's been going on for a good 2 years now....and I think it's time.  I went from working every other day to working full time, and I just don't have enough work pants.  We probably won't even look into a FET for a year, so I have no excuses left.  It just feels like one more way of giving up hope.

Am I the only one who has been in dire need of some new clothes for a while?

Re: When's the last time you bought clothes?

  • Nope me too! I have the same thought process as you :) but I guess it is time.

  • Too funny, I was just thinking about that the other day...I have a very limited wardrobe for that very same reason. I did buy a new pair of jeans a couple of weeks ago and have to admit that it feels good to wear something new.

    Enjoy the shopping :-)

  • I just bought clothes today. I really needed them. I know exactly what you are saying, although we are now on a hold from treatments until April at the earliest, and everything I bought was fall/winter clothes. If we have a miracle this month, I would still be able to wear these clothes.

  • I wish I was, but I am a shopaholic!! I have normal clothes, bloated clothes, maternity clothes, everything I could ever need. When all I really want to buy is baby stuff!! I get so mad that I can't buy any baby stuff I buy more clothes!

I say go treat yourself to some new digs!!

  • We won't talk about the maternity clothes I bought when I first started TTC.  THOSE are buried in the back of my closet.  Of course, having spent so damn much on the IVF, I've got about $50 to blow.  Woot!
  • I bought a few new clothes and had the tailor take in a pencil skirt I had purposely bought too big last year. Retail therapy. It made me focus on other things (success in losing a few pounds, looking good at work, etc), instead of all the stress and uncertainty of TTC. Try it. It might actually help you feel better.
  • I've been avoiding doing a big shopping spree for the same reason, I've bought a few cheap tops b/c I needed some longer tops optimistically hoping I'll need to use the bella band for actual pregnancy soon.
