...Bob Evans mashed potatoes (the kind you buy at the grocery store) that have a "Use-By" date of 8/20/09?

DH does not seem to understand why I am refusing to eat them...

No idea who bob evans is but if his potatoes were expired, I wouldn't be touching them.

I would refuse as well and if there's any left, they would be in the trash very soon! An experation date is there for a reason.

Nope! After having had food poisoning twice, I won't touch anything on the date it expires. Food poisoning is NO fun. My DH sounds like yours. He thinks its ok to drink milk a few days after the date, and anything else for that matter. No thanks.
