Update: The Scoop on the Poop

First just let me say that I'm somewhat disturbed by my topic's subject. But I guess that's motherhood, right? LOL!

Anyway, Aaron is OK.  In fact, last night he made two hard stools (not good for an infant) and after the nurse took his temperature (rectally) he REALLY pooped?and not hard. My $30 copay was worth it for the poop.

So he was just a bit constipated but the pediatrician (one of 5 in the practice) said to keep him on the Enfamil Gentlease and gave me some samples of this glucose water and said to have Aaron sip a bit of that throughout the day. It should, apparently, help keep him regular.

I hope so!

  • Oh good - I am glad this too has "passed".
  • Yep!!  DS had the same issue for a bit and that's why I give him a dropperful of water each night to help keep him a bit more regular (BTW, with the pedi's blessing).  And if he goes too long, warm bath and I use the rectal thermometer and check his temp.  He always poops after that.

  • Glad he is ok..we were asll worried
  • What a shitty thing to happen to Aaron.
  • LOL, Mari!

I just hope he adjusts to the formula and this isn't something I'll have to be too concerned about.  But I plan to use the thermometer trick in the future, if I have to!

  • That much be such a relief for Aaron and for you.  Hope he continues with the successful poo! (Something I never thought I would say before motherhood).
    DD1 is 3, DD2 is 1.
  • Hooray for Aaron! What a relief... for both you guys.
  • Thank goodness. He must feel so much better now (and you too!)

    Yes

  • Glad it all came out OK (there is no shortage of puns and jokes to be made here - it's irresistible :)

We've noticed that as the BM:formaula ratio gets progressively more skewed to formula that Ada has a tough time getting things moving. Once she does though, look out!! It actually got on the curtains last week Ick! Of course, we were all excited that she was pooping!
