How long..

would you let your 6 1/2 lb or 7 week old baby sleep?  When we first came home I was told no more than 3-4 hours MAX due to small size.  However- the past couple days he's been sleeping a lot (growth spurt?) and i've actually had to wake him up after 6 hours sometimes!! 

I know it is defferent for us preemie moms, since FT babies can sleep as long as they want after they reach birth weight.

    I was told to wake him every 4 hours until he reached 10 pounds.  Around his due date he started waking up on his own.

    Once Keira was home and gaining at least 1 oz per day, our pedi said let her sleep and eat as she wants.

    We were told 3 hours was the max since our LO was so tiny and needed to eat.  As she got bigger and we increased her bottle size, the doctor allowed us to let her sleep for as long as she wanted.
