2nd Trimester

Big U/S today, at it's still a mystery :(

Im trying not to complain because everything looks normal and healthy so far... but I really want to buy stuff for the baby and I was counting on a team today. The baby was curled up in a ball almost the entire time. Even when the U/S tech tried to get him/her to move, it would just move a little and stay in the same position. Already a stubborn baby, def my husbands child! haha

Oh well.. I just have to count my blessings.

  • Not quite the same, but I had to reschedule my u/s three times (I had to fly out of town, then the doc's office called to move my appt, etc.) and the suspense killed me. ?I didn't find out until 21 weeks. ?You'll find out soon enough... I know how hard it is!?

  • Well at least it was because your baby didn't cooperate. My baby did but the tech would not look. Needless to say I had to pay for a 3d/4d ultrasound at 23 weeks to find out. It is very frustrating!

She said she wasn't allowed to unless I was at least 20 plus weeks and I was only 18 weeks at my ultrasound..... :(

I think I would have tried to bribe her. ?I'd be so frustrated. ??

  • haha oops, I obviously missed the last part of that conversation! Still frustrating though.

Thanks for the support ladies! I just needed to vent Smile

  • my little one scooted around a ton, but the umbilical cord was between its legs and it kept its legs right in the way- the tech tried, but no go. We're team green too :'(

that is so stupid I went in at what we thought was 18 weeks and they still told us. That tech is a moron

  • I have mine a week from today, I hope it doesn't happen to me! that's torture!
  • Did you get a second appointment?  With our first child's first big u/s, he was curled up on the placenta taking a nap and wouldn't wake up for anything.  The doc said he couldn't see enough of the heart, so they rescheduled me for a couple weeks later to come back.  At that appointment they were able to determine the sex.  Of couse, it was such a letdown not to know the first time.  I remember crying with disappointment.

Just wanted to remind everyone that the ultrasound is not for finding out gender.  As a tech it is frustrating when people think they are there to find out the gender.  It is actually a medical exam to ensure that your baby has it's organs and is developing appropriately and if you are lucky and want to know finding out the gender is just a perk.
