1st Trimester

I know I shouldn't complain

but I haven't had an ounce of morning sickness.  Only once have I gotten really nauseous while cooking dinner but that's it.  I'm just 6 wks - I know I'm still in the running to get it, but it's making me nervous that I'm feeling so ok! Anyone get morning sickness starting after week 6?  It seems like so many women get it in week 5...

Re: I know I shouldn't complain

  • Oh god embrace it! I would LOVE to not have morning sickness! I understand that it is making you nervous that you don't have it, but you're only 6 weeks, so enjoy it while you can because you still may get it. I started getting nauseous around week 5 and then week 7 was when the morning sickness got really bad and I was throwing up. I am starting to get better now, but still not 100%. Now it seems like the headaches are kicking in.

  • Dont worry. I haven't (knock on wood) gotten sick/felt queezy either. I start feeling a little gross if I get too hungry though. I read something like 20% dont get M/S. That being said maybe we're in that lucky 20%! Other women have said it didnt hit til 8 - 9 wks...

Maybe!  Well, thanks for letting me know others are in the same boat!  Good luck to you!

  • with my first pregnancy i didn't get it until week 7. there's still plenty of time. enjoy it now!
  • I am 8 weeks and I haven't gotten sick or felt really nauseous, but I have felt queasy.  Although this morning after my shower I am having a hard time eating breakfast because of my stomach not feeling well....

A friend of mine never got sick with her first, barely even queasy.  She felt pretty good her entire pregnancy.

  • I was bragging not too long ago that i knew how to deal with morning sickness and it wasn't that bad.  Around six weeks.....well then 7 weeks hit!  Don't worry, there is still time for you.

  • With my first pregnancy I never got morning sickness at all.  It worried me a little because but my grandmother had 6 boys and never had morning sickness with any of them.  I think everyone is different.  I will tell you one thing I am PRAYING I don't get morning sickness this time either.  Chasing a 16 month old and being sick would be NO FUN.  Good luck!

  • I got m/s as soon as I hit 6 weeks and I still ahve it. However, the only way to curb it is to eat all day long. Small, frequent meals every day...

enjoy it! I haven't had any. I think about 25% never have any, so its not like it rare.

  • I haven't had any morning sickness this pregnancy. Not everyone gets it and it doesn't mean there is a problem. But, you're still early so you never know- you could get it!
  • Seriously, stop worrying over this. Symptoms are no reflection on how healthy your pregnancy is. I hate to say it, but some women here had horrible morning sickness only to find out that they had miscarried weeks earlier. Other people have absolutely NO morning sickness and go on to have perfectly healthy, happy babies.

I didn't get sick until the beginning week 11. I thought I had escaped it, but no luck. I have a few friends who are in the 30th and 38th weeks. Neither one has been sick a single day of their pregnancies.

    STOP WORRYING. :)

  • My best friend didn't get it until about week 8 - and then had it for the next 32 weeks!  You have plenty of time to have some nausea - but a lot of women never really have much m/s.  Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones.

  • I didn't have anything and kept thinking how wonderful, maybe I'll get lucky. But no, I was laying on the couch this morning and it hit me. I didn't get sick, but I sure had everything leading up to the sick =/

  • I didn't have any morning sickness until my 7th week.  Since then I have thrown up almost every night before bed.  I guess it's better than morning sickness when I'm getting ready for work, but I hate throwing up.
  • I didn't get it until week 7.  Luckily mine only lasted a couple of weeks.
  • The only time I feel queasy is when I dont eat or at the site/smell of pork. I snack often-fruit, string cheese, etc. Other than that I am fine.....for now.

I'm 9 weeks along and haven't thrown up, i do however gag when i brush my teeth and sometimes when i cough in the morning, that's it!  i'm also vegan and have heard that may have something to do with it, but i'm not sure if it's true
  • With DD I had it weeks 7-11. Hopefully yours stays away!
  • You are right you are still very early so don't count your self without it yet. I didn't get mine till around 8 or 9 weeks!

  • I don't have it & I'm LOVING life because of it!!!  I feel like I'm one of the "lucky ones" right now.  I read that between 5 & 11wks is when you're most likely to have it so I'm just hoping to make it to 11/12 wks without!  I hate hate HATE throwing up.  It especially would suck if I was at work since #1 we're trying to keep things quite until we see the doc & tell our fam/friends & #2 the bathrooms isn't very close to my desk!
