My doctor presecribed Fluconazole. I don't trust that it is safe as on the precautions it says: Only take while pregnancy on an extreme need basis. Well..my OB didn't even examine me to see if I even had one. I just told her it was bothering me.
Also, try to eat yogurt on a daily basis. That's the only way I've kept mine at bay before being pg & also now. If they get really bad, ask your OB if you can take acidophilious (sp?), its the live & active culture in yogurt but in concentrate form thats available with the vitamins and stuff at your pharmacy. FWIW, if DH is gasy, have him take them according to the directions and it really cuts down on gas!
my OB prescribed Diflucan, and it cleared up within a couple of days. She did examine me, prob. because I've never had one, and it wasn't severe, so the only symptom I had was pain during sex a few weeks ago...
