Some pics and Labor Story

Hey Ladies!
For some reason I can't upload pictures to snapfish right now, but I posted some pictures of hannah in my blog: jessica.sollenberger.us
I went for my 38 week appointment and found out I was 5 cm dilated. After several people freaked me out because of being so far along but not at the hospital, I decided to time my contractions, though weak, they were every 10 min. After a few calls to the doctor, we decided to sleep through the night and see what happened on Friday. Friday morning they were still about every 10 min, not very strong, but consistent, so we went to the mall to see if i could "walk her out." After an hour of stronger contractions, but not really painful, we called my docs and they had me to get checked at Women's and Babies in triage.
We got into triage and found out I was now 6cm, but still no real labor pains or anything. My midwife was going to come during her lunch break to break my water but there were no labor and delivery rooms available. We finally got over to triage around 2 or so, still no real progression, just lots of walking around, showers and what not. Finally Cheri got there around 6:50 or so, and we discussed starting my epidural, which I really did not know if I wanted to do. She said that she would break my water, I could go walk for another 45 min to see how things went, and then I could get the epidural and what not if I so chose. I thought about that and just decided to have it then. So, at 7:00 she broke my water and they started the fluid bolus which would take 20 min to administer. After about 5 min I started to have contractions lasting 1 min that I could not talk through. They were every 4 min. By the time the bolus was finished, I was having contractions still about every 3-4 min but now I was breathing pretty loud through the contractions. I got up to use the bathroom before the anesthesiologist came in, and I had about 3 contractions between the bed and toilet that I had to stop and rock against the wall, on the verge of beginning to yell. By the time I got back to the bed, I was having contraction on top of contraction. The anethesiologist was behind me getting the epidural ready, when I started to scream and said I needed to push. They laid me down and checked me and said I was 9.5 cm. Cheri (the midwife) had left the hospital so the paged her frantically. I continued to scream through each contraction, and she walked in just as I was about to push like nobodys business. I pushed for 6 min and out she came! Born at 7:56pm. Thats right kids, less than an hour from when they broke my water. It was insane, I ripped inside along the right vaginal wall, a 2nd degree tear, which made me swell really bad in my right labia, so I'm pretty stinkin sore right now.
So, Hannah is here, 6 pounds and 1 ounce, 19 inches long! She came home at 5 pounds and we have our first appointment for her tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing well! Enjoy the pictures!
