Sounds like Cradle Cap. ?Massage her scalp with baby oil and then brush it through. ?That will loosen up a lot of the flakes. ?Then wash her hair well to get all the oil and flakes out. ?IT may take a couple of days, but it works!
I parted his hair, rubbed baby oil on his scalp w a cotton ball & then brushed it gently. Then I washed it. I did this process for 3 days in a row & it never came back.
Use a gentle shampoo like Aveeno or Dove, and shampoo every other day. You can use olive oil and your nails or a comb to scrape the flakes off. If it gets really really bad, OTC 1% hydrocortisone, 2x day for 2-3 weeks! Some pedi's recommend Selsun Blue...but I don't for my patients (I think it's too hard) and I wouldn't use it on DD

my pediatrician told me to use selsun blue. she said to leave it on for 20 minutes and then gently massage with a soft toothbrush. i only left it on for 10 minutes and used a washcloth and it worked just fine and hasn't come back.
i bought the special treatment stuff. It works really good but if you dont use it most of the time it comes back. I've noticed DS has got it back again and I need to apply it before I give him his next bath

We used olive oil bc we already had it in the cabinet! Used a comb and brush to loosen it up, rewashed with Head n Shoulders, again already in shower. Then for the next few days brushed good before and after washign, and used HNS. Hasnt come back. with the long hair def use comb!
DS had tons of hair. We washed his head with a wash cloth in the bath. After bath I put a little baby oil in his hair and used a very fine toothed comb to get out as much as possible. We were lucky and it cleared up on its own by 1 month.

DS has had a flake here and there, but nothing more. We don't mess with it.
If it's more than a few flakes, then try Baby Oil and massaging it with a soft brush.
this.
Let's try this again...
DS has a ton of hair and he had cradle cap. These products worked VERY well for him.

They were expensive - but worked very quickly and I liked the fact that they were gentle.
Good luck!
Use baby oil or olive oil ..massage it in and let it set overnight..
Then take a comb/brush and massage it through again...
