questions to ask references

We are in the process of interviewing in-home daycare providers, and I'm wondering what questions you asked of their references? We'll ask the general "what did/didn't you like?" but I'm hoping to get some other ideas as well! Thanks!

    I didn't ask but if we were looking at in home day cares again I would definitely ask how often they took time off and whether or not they gave plenty of notice.  The in home we used for about 2 months took a lot of time off and would randomly give us only about 1-2 weeks notice which for us didn't really work.
