I was wondering if anyone else who did regular workouts before getting pregnant is working out now? ?I'm 15 weeks and finally started feeling good enough to at least get to the gym. ?I use to work out in the morning, and I tried that today, but at about 2:00 in the afternoon I hit a big wall. ?I guess I need my sleep. ?And after work, I'm exhausted as well.
?A lot of women are telling me not to worry about it and just enjoy this time of gaining weight. ?That's a little hard to get through my head since I enjoy being active and know it's good for me and baby.?Is walking enough?
Re: Working Out
I've been able to work out and find that doing "bursts" of things really helpful. I'll walk 10 mins in the AM, afternoon and PM to total 30 mins, combined with at-home yoga and light weights. It's really helped me feel good and stay in shape thus far. Best wishes!
My workouts are almost the same as pre-pregnancy. I still do step class, treadmill, and elliptical machine. I was doing an ab class, but I've stopped going this week because it has started being uncomfortable (my OB said I could keep going until my body told me to stop). I've been tired, but actually feel better and less tired the days I work out. I also seem to sleep better the days I work out.
My OB said that his patients that work out have easier labor and delivery, which has been my motivation to go to the gym. Do what you can. If walking is all you can do, then walk.
