Question for Baby Jogger City Mini Owners

I am considering buying a City Mini.  I love the way it folds and I love all the cool features for DD - the amazing canopy, the mesh vents, etc.  However, I am concerned about the front wheel, and the wheels in general.  I plan to use it for walks and short jogs (I do interval training where I walk for 2 mins, sprint for 1, walk for 2, etc.)  Does the non-locking wheel bother you?  Any issues with comfort, bumps, etc?  I will be walking mostly on concrete but may want to take her out on a hiking trail every now and again.

The other stroller I am considering is a Jeep Liberty, but that thing is a monster - so big and bulky.  I won't be using it for my everyday stroller, but I have a small house - no room for something huge like that!

TIA!

Re: Question for Baby Jogger City Mini Owners

  • I have the BJCM and I initially bought it for walking/jogging, now I use it as my everyday stroller because it's not cut out for a lot of exercise. I ended up buying a BOB and I am glad I did. If you need something for exercise, I would buy the Jeep stroller. I have a couple of friends who run with the Jeep stroller and they seem to like it. I personally love my BJCM, just not for exercising besides walks on a sidewalk. HTH.

  • I don't know what you are referring to by non-locking wheel?  The front wheel?  The front wheel DOES lock!?!?  As for jogging, if you are a serious jogger I would consider buying a step up - at least you're still getting the great features of the Baby Jogger but its made for more rigorous exercise.  The BJCM is sold as an urban walker/light jogger - but it would have to be REALLY light jogging.  Did you check their website?  They have more jogging type strollers - they invented the jogging stroller actually.
