2nd Trimester

Question - NBR

If you have had work done on/outside your house - what was the bathroom situation for the contractors?  We are adding an addition on to our back porch, so we'll have a variety of people here for 4-6 weeks.  One bid included the cost for a Porta-Pottie, while the other didn't.

Would you let the people into your house each day to use the bathroom, or get the Porta-Pottie?

Re: Question - NBR

  • Depends on the time of year, the climate, how much the Pota-Potty costs and if I was home all day or not.

If I was home all day and it was in the Summer or Fall here the weather is dry so no mud so I would say yes, if it lowered the cost by a significant amount. If we're talking $100 on a $10000 job, I might just go for it. You know what I'm saying?

  • no way would i.  i wont even let people schedule to come to my house to fix things while hubbys not home.

i would ask the person in charge what they usually do about it before it becomes a situation...

  • We are in FL, and the work will be starting soon.  Both my DH and I work from home, so we would be here if they were to come into the house.  1 of the bids included the cost ($100), while the other didn't.

  • For only $100 I say go for it.

That way people won't be tracking dirt into your house and your house will be your haven from everything.

  • I would get it!! I work in construction and we have great rates on them....we pay 40 a month for one...you can probably get one for about 100 bucks a month...and the company comes and cleans them weekly.
