My fiance and I are planning on having a small (very small) ceremony in a few weeks and I have no idea where to start looking for a wedding dress. My baby bump isn't very big, but it's definitely there and I'm assuming will be more so in a few weeks.
Our "big" wedding is a year away when my dad comes home from Afghanistan (he's in the army) but now that I'm pregnant we want to have a short ceremony so he can put the baby and I on his insurance...and then have a big wedding w/ a reception when my dad comes home.
Any ideas? Those of you who got married w/your baby bump...did you just get a bigger size and have the top adjusted, or were you able to find a "lose" fitting dress that fit your belly? Thnks!
Re: Wedding gowns?
Do you HAVE to have an actual wedding dress?
Maternity wedding dresses can cost the same as a "regular" wedding dress (a few hundred dollars) and if you're going to have a "real" wedding next year why not just wait until then? You can get a very nice formal maternity dress for much cheaper. Just my two cents.
Good luck!
I originally wanted to have a destination wedding so when I was wedding dress shopping- goodness... long story short! haha!
I went to David's Bridal and they have several very cute empire wasted "flowy" dresses that would totally cover a small bump! They were really cute and reasonable priced. They called them thier "destination wedding style gowns"
Congrats and good luck!
I got married at 20 weeks pg- PISiggy-
I had my dress altered- we added a corset back into the dress for extra room. I can PIP if you want to see how that turned out?
29 weeks of bedrest & Cerclage at 14 weeks.
Pea in a Pod has some cute wedding dresses.
You can also buy a long white Butter by Nadia wrap dress in satin: https://www.butterbynadia.com/wrap.html It is $350, but you can dye it (probably) and wear it again (most definitely) during or after your pregnancy. I want a jersey Butter dress so badly!
