DH wants to go to the state fair, he thinks it's fine to take DD, assuming we'd just wear her. I'm not so sure, just because it can get so crowded. WDYT?
Definitely. We take T many places. Went to a BBQ festival when he was 3 months. I think the stroller is just fine too. That way you walk around and not get too tired carrying everything.
I did. DD loved it. I brought her in the stroller and wore her part of the time. The area where the kiddie rides were was hard to manage around because of all the other strollers and kids running around, but the rest of the time was fine. I also went on a weekday, so it might've been more crowded on a weekend.
I might, especially if you will wear your baby. Of course, that depends on your fair. The fair in my hometown is GIANT and crowded so I would maybe only go on a weekday. The one we went to last year was way less crowded and would have been easy with a worn baby. I wouldn't plan on staying more than a few hours though.
Are you in California? We went yesterday and took j and it was fine. However we went a liitle later on the afternoon because it gets so hot. And we went on Sunday vs Saturday because of the crowds. I think labor day weekend is it's busiest. I also bought one of those portable fans that can also be used as misters.
Ours is going on right now, and we want to go Saturday...at least that's when our family is going. I'd rather go on a less busy day, but that's when they want to go, and we're not going until about 5:00, so that should hopefully help with the crowd too. I'm in MN, so it shouldn't be too hot.
We went a few days ago with my family and DD LOVED it! She has a big thing for lights though so it was heaven for her. She spent most of the time in the stroller but I wore her in the Moby for a bit and my mom carried her for a bit too.
I will be taking LO to the state fair when he/she is about 2 months old. ?My DD can not miss the fair it is her favorite and she looks forward to it every year. ?I do not want to miss the excitment and joy on her face.
Absolutely! I took DS to the county fair and he was only 4 weeks old. Our State Fair is in September and we're considering going for a day or two. Have fun!
We're going to the MN one tomorrow. Since we're going all day, we decided not to take the baby and having him at daycare during the day and with his mom in the evening. We thought we'd enjoy it a lot more without the baby.
We show livestock so DD has been to plenty of fairs this summer. Just remember that strollers and the cattle/pig/horse/ barn don't go together! These animals, while mostly very tame if they are a the fair, can also kick at any moment and a stroller too close to a back leg can spell tragedy. Also, please ask if your child can pet the animals before you do so unless you are in the petting zoo. Most of us would love to tell you more about our animals but there is a proper way to approach an animal and some may just not tolerate kids. Please let us help you so your child doesn't get hurt!
