I know very little about the Montesorri method of childcare...
A lady on my facebook posted she was looking for a twin sized mattress for her 10 month old baby as they were using the montesorri method.
Does anyone have more info on what/why montesorri encourages babies to sleep in a regular bed and not a crib? I know they promote independance but I would like to understand the logic behind this.
Re: Anyone familiar with Montesorri?
I read a book about this and the theory was that everything in baby's room should be safe and accessible for baby. So, all low shelves, nothing dangerous, and sleeping on the floor. The philosophy is that children should be able to explore and learn from their environment independently and at their own pace.
