I'm so tired of the heat! Any other Desert Dwellers?

Let me just say, as a native Pittsburgh-er, that I'd MUCH rather have the heat than the snow and the ice in the winter. But, this heat is getting ridiculous!

We had a BEAUTIFUL June here in Phoenix. The temp never went above 100. Unfortunately, we seem to be paying for it now. It's September and we're still at 110 degrees. I want to cry when I go outside. And to think, I was excited because I wouldn't be "really" pregnant in the summer....ha!

I DO love the heat. And it hasn't really been humid. So I guess it could be worse.....but I want fall! (The whole week or it that we get here!)

Just wanted to vent...anyone else?

  • I'm in Vegas.  It has been hot, but thankfully a bit better than our typical summers.  June was really easy for us, too.  August has been a killer - it was just 111 on Friday.  I have to admit, though, I was in San Diego over the weekend and I am just not a person who can deal with humidity.  It was 85 degrees, but I couldn't stand it!
  • NC's been kinda crazy this summer (and, yes...I know I'm not a "Desert Dweller". lol)! We're usually in a drought during our summers, but this year it's rained at least once almost every week! Today was really weird though. I woke up and looked outside: "cool, it's rainy today." Then I got up did some things around the house and finally made it downstairs to take the dogs out. It was 65 degrees outside!! Holy cow it felt COLD! Indifferent Anyways...just hoping NC might send a few of the cold degrees your way. I feel ya though on being ready for the heat to drop off...I'm just not quite ready for winter yet either! lol

Me too! We went to Bakersfield last week and it was sooooo humid! I'll take my dry heat any day!

  • Fresno here, and yes ma'am.  Can't wait to feel "comfortable" and also can't wait for the electric bills to go down.... Ugh!
  • Amen!!! I can't wait for it to be consistently under 100 and then drop to the 80s. How many more months until we get that? 2? 3?

Too many! And all the clothes in the stores are fall clothes, so I'm stuck in the 2 pairs of maternity capris I own until it cools off enough to wear pants, lol

  • I'm not a desert dweller but I'm in Florida and I'm so ready for it to cool down. The bad thing here is that it's SO humid so it's hot and sticky. Not cool. Hopefully it cools down in the next couple of months.

  • It's a few degrees cooler here (I think it might actually only be high 90's today) but it's been triple digits here for about a week and there are giant wildfires in the mountains so going outside is like standing in a woodstove. Gross.

Cooling thoughts to all you lovely ladies!

  • I'm in Austin, and while it's cooling down a bit, we've had 60+ 100 degree days this summer. I'm definitely ready for temps in the 70s and low 80s.
  • I miss the rain! That's what makes the summer bearable - that afternoon thunderstorm and temp drop and we're missing it this year...10 sprinkles does not a monsoon make.

  • I don't live in the desert but I live in L.A. and with the combination of this dry heat, smoke and ash from the fires, I am miserable! I don't know how you ladies do it in AZ.  IT's HOT!!!! I actually love coming into work just so I can be in a/c.
  • Fountain Hills girl here!  I can't wait for the weather to cool down.  I think we are just being tortured for having such a nice June.
  • I live in PHX and agree....although since June was nice, I expected July and August to be bad.  And being that I moved here from Chicago, I'll take a couple months of bad heat ANYDAY over about 8 months of cold!  But hopefully here by Oct 1 we will be loving it again!
