For those of you not buying bedding sets...

Where are you finding things that match without spending a fortune? My parents are buying the bedding, (most everything for that matter) but I just can't see making them pay 160 bucks or more! I found the set I want, but it doesn't come separate. Any advice helps! Tia!!

    Have you tried Babysupermall?  They seem to have cheaper bedding.

    We are just buying crib sheets and a dust ruffle, target and BRU have a ton that match each other.

    i've found that walmart.com has a bunch of mix match stuff that all goes together but is cheap.

    I'm makin my own... i can't see spending that much money so i will be buying the fabric and doing it myself... thank god i have a easy theme! LOL

    We found bed sets at Babies R Us and since you arent supposed to use the bumper pads and the comforter we decided we just wanted everything else and you can buy everything separate except the two things we don't want! where did you find your set? maybe you can look other places to find a simiar theme?

    We are having everything made.  So, it's not cheaper than buying a set, but it's custom and it matches the room perfectly.

    I am making my own dust ruffle, bumper and window treatments. All the stuff in the stores was so juvenile and you are paying extra money for a quilt you can't use anyway. I picked fabrics I really liked. It will still end up costing about 100 bucks (and a ton of my time because I am a beginner at sewing) but at least it looks more sophisticated.

    I'm making my own.  On top of that I don't really have a theme much, other than, boy or girl, I'm using my Breyer horses I collected as a kid to decorate with.  We aren't going real cowboy with it though.  I also picked vintage looking linen fabric and the colors will be the same (aqua, green, and grey) except an accent of pink for a girl and chocolate for a boy.  I get to go ahead and get started on it since it's all ging to be mostly the same either way.  Anyway, I'm coming out totaly cheaper than buying retail even with paying a lady to do some of the quilting.

    We didn't buy a set.  They are a HUGE waste of money in my opinion.  I bought separate pieces as I found them and the cost about 30-40 dollars for it all.  Some of those sets are over $200.00.  Totally crazy in my opinion.

    I lived and learned with my first child. We never used the quilt- hung it on the wall and then it collected dust and we took it down. With my next one I am going to get a few sets of mix and match sheets and a cute dust ruffle and crib bumper and then we are set. I may even buy an extra sheet and make a valance.
