platlets?

I have been having issues with low platlet counts since my bloodwork at 12 weeks.  Went to a hemotologist and they were low, but not greatly so.  Have them tested each month at my OB and they were normal last month, but this month they are low again.  No one is giving me any answers (they all say it could just be pregnancy related) and I don't really know what could happen other then if they fall too low, I cannot have an epidural.  Anyone else have this problem?  thanks!!!

    I do not have an issue with my platelets being low, but we do have a condition called Neonatal Alloimmune Thrombocytopenia that is causing our babys platelets to be low. Because of this I see a hematologist and also have my platelet count monitored. Mine has never been below normal, always in the 230-250,000 range, but before we found out about the Neonatal Thrombocytopenia we were told that low platelets could be a sign of an auto-immune disease. Have you been tested for ITP -Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura?
