I will never go there. I heard your lady bits are super sensitive when you are pregnant. My suggestion is a few tylenol. Regretfully, you cannot hit the Motrin.
I get mine waxed once a month. I hate the pain, but I love the results. I have very sensitive skin and waxing is the only way I'm able to avoid nasty ingrown hairs and razor bumps.
You could try taking tylenol before getting waxed, it may help with the pain. Before I was PG I used to take Advil before getting waxed sometimes. Also, trim as much as possible before going, the longer the hair, the more it hurts.
I always do a brazilian, even now i get it done every few weeks. The key is finding a place that uses great quality wax, it doesn't hurt nearly as bad.
I'm still getting my waxing done, I have been for years and don't plan to stop during the pregnancy. I wouldn't say it hurt anymore than usual. As pp said, it all depends on the type of wax used, as well as the trained professional that is doing it...

For now I'm still shaving and not having a problem, but I imagine at some point I'll have to get waxed. We have a pregnancy spa here, just for pregnant women! It is owned by a perinatal dr's office so everything is dr. approved. They do waxing there, so that's where I plan to go when the time comes.
I have only done a Brazilian once and NEVER again! I did do my regular bikini wax in my first tri and it was much more painful than usual and I had a horrible reaction - my skin swelled, bled and looked bruised. My OB said no more waxing during this pg, the area is just too sensitive. I am using a trimmer...

I had a bikini wax last month and my skin still hasn't completely recovered. Now everytime I get hot in that area, it itches like crazy!!! (Even after showers) Ugh, never again.
The salon I work for sells a product called No Scream Cream, which helps to take the edge off the pain. I would be careful about taking any pain relievers before your appt since it can thin your blood which can make you bleed more. And don't trim the hair too much, because it has to be a certain length in order(about 1/4 inch) to wax it. You could always call the esthetician and see if she has any recommendations to make your experience less painful.

You ladies really are brave! I trim, and could care less about if I have a few extra hairs. DH doesn't care, so there is no way I would ever put myself through a bikini wax. I'm all for grooming, but not the OUCH!!!!
I had a regular bikini wax yesterday with no problems. ?However, I've been waxing for years. ?I've done a Brazilian twice in about the 20+ times I've done a regular bikini wax. ?I'm not a fan of the Brazilian, but a regular bikini wax is a walk in the park.

I agree with this.
