hey guys - as a 2nd time mom... i'm struggling with how to make this baby more special at times. no real shower (had a couple of dinners with friends), no real new purchases, no decorating of nursery, etc.(I'm having another boy)
I think it's super cute to have a photo of both children on the announcement, but then I feel like I would be slighting the new baby... a bit.
What do you think? I guess I could do a few pics and only have 1 with both of them, but I really like the single pic annoucements the best...
Re: Baby Annoucement with older sibling pic?
I think your announcement of your 2nd baby should only include pictures of the 2nd baby. I thought about it too, and it would be cute to have a picture of Rylie holding her brother, but then I decided that would just take away from HIM. There will be plenty of opportunity to have pictures of both kids, but the announcement should only be about the new baby, IMO.
I don't think your little guy will be upset if he shares his announcement with his sibling. After all your whole family dynamic is changing and while you are announcing a new baby, you are also announcing a new brother too. I think it would be very cute to have a pic of both boys together, maybe with the little one more in the center of the photo.
If you are torn, try creating your announcement both ways, and see which one you feel better about.

Maybe, you can have an announcement that has three or four pics and one of them can be of both of your children.
I hadn't even thought twice about this...My plan was always to do 2 pics on the announcement- a larger one of just baby and a smaller one to the side with big bro. However, if I don't get a good one of the two of them together in time, I'll omit. I even have matching little bro and big bro shirts for them to wear for it.
Although I agree that this announcment is about the baby and agree with PP, I have involved my first son every step of the way and I know he'll be so proud to see himself on there. If he was younger and didn't know any different, I probably wouldn't worry about including his pic.
I don't think you can go wrong either way!
